i loved "photo album", thought they "dumbed down" or "rocked up" their sound a bit for "transatlanticism", but still liked it a lot. "plans" sounds like a lighter "transatlanticism" almost to the point of fluff. i'm going to need more listens. i must be wrong.

Threw in the towel on these guys about halfway through the Photo Album.

Photo Album is easily the worst Death Cab album.

Dug this thread back up to say that I finally got this album... and it sucks.

Total letdown; definately their worst album in my opinion. So overproduced it sounds like Pinback.

and boring.

and I LIKED the Photo Album.

Seeing them live Sunday. I'm actually looking forward to the Youth Group set more than DCFC's.

I love it because although they are kind of at a crossroads, it pretty much presents the songs without much gimmick or frills. And I like the songs. Not as self-conscious as Trans, but more mature than Yes and Photo. I think it's the perfect record for them right now.

They'll fuck up the next one, though.

The only song I really liked from that album was "Information Travels Faster." This new one ain't bad, not as good as Transatlanticism.
