Well, let me tell you something, funny boy. Y'know that little stamp, the one that says "New York Public Library"? Well that may not mean anything to you, but that means a lot to me. One whole hell of a lot. Sure, go ahead, laugh if you want to. I've seen your type before: Flashy, making the scene, flaunting convention. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. What's this guy making such a big stink about old library books? Well, let me give you a hint, junior. Maybe we can live without libraries, people like you and me. Maybe. Sure, we're too old to change the world, but what about that kid, sitting down, opening a book, right now, in a branch at the local library and finding drawings of pee-pees and wee-wees on the Cat in the Hat and the Five Chinese Brothers? Doesn't HE deserve better? Look. If you think this is about overdue fines and missing books, you'd better think again. This is about that kid's right to read a book without getting his mind warped! Or: maybe that turns you on, Seinfeld; maybe that's how y'get your kicks. You and your good-time buddies. Well I got a flash for ya, joy-boy: Party time is over. Y'got seven days, Seinfeld. That is one week!

I am alive. A little bleary, a little worse for wear and tear, and on some serious fucking painkillers.

To tell the truth, a meet up would be better than most convention related activities.
We'll make it happen one of these years, Sketch.

someone should make a bad idea thread. drinking on a two day empty stomach and then writing emotional emails is a bad idea. someone should also make a cell phone that shuts down when it senses that the operator of said phone is halfway to wasted.

Damn, attending wakes and funerals never becomes easier through time. How sad that I can't drink.

Oh, likewise... The Crew needs to chuck Sheets & Gagne -- don't need 'em, don't want 'em -- use that amount of money they committed to those two mercurial talents to sign Carsten Charles.

But that said, in lieu of Sabaconpants news, C.C. de Ville is a very nice substitute.

Also, when will they start playing "Unskinny Bop" over the PA when CCS starts? Would rock... totally rock.

So I causually ask my friend when he's leaving for Burning Man and he answers, "SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY", which of course sparks a conversation about Monster Truck Rally Commercials and when exactly did they stop using the "SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!" method of advertising or is it still alive in Red States? So I get inspired and start searching Youtube for Monster Truck Rally commercials. 20 minutes later I've determined THIS FAKE ONE is the pick of the litter.

I always forget about this thread. I spent all of last week playing golf in NW Michigan with a couple buddies. We played 162 holes in 7 days and were flanked by trees on every one. Had a sweet-ass 3 BR condo right at one of the courses actually overlooking the driving range. And now I can't wait till next August to do it again. :D

Where'd ya go? I'm assuming NW Michigan means northern LOWER Michigan, and you didn't make it all the way up to my neck of the woods...

The mailman made a very tentozian delivery today:

New Johnny Dowd
Taj Mahal - Giant Step/De Ole Folks at Home
Richard Thompson - Daring Adventures
Hoyt Axton - Southbound/Fearless

Infused Vodka drinking is about to commence. I need some straight booze in my hands before having to watch Pavano take the mound for the Yankees.

i have never seen so many bad tattoos in one place than i did at six flags today.

i mean i thought the awful spider-man tattoo on some guy's bicep was bad but then i saw a dude with a route sign tramp stamp

Image

and inside it said "property of stephanie".

i'm never going there on a weekend during the summer again though. the lines for rides were fucking ridiculous.
