I thought it was going to be a shootout until the real Taylor Martinez began to run around all confused and throw three costly interceptions. I nailed the Huskers offensive output, but underestimated the Badger offense by eighteen points. I'm not sure why the Husker coaching staff immediately threw out their offensive game plan after one interception, but it killed them.
It was apparent last night that the Pelini Defense is nothing with out a serious amount of NFL talent on the line and backfield. The Huskers really need to develop a consistant QB and a cohesive game plan that is competitive against top level opponents.
I congratulate the Badgers on hammering the Huskers in Madison, and I was truly impressed by Russell Wilson last night.
I didn't get too pissed off until that third interception at the start of the 2nd half, then I opted to continue drinking my pain away and avoided all but the final few minutes of the carnage.

The game really did look like it would be close early on. Martinez just killed any kind of momentum with some really bad throws.

Russell Wilson has been fantastic. It's too bad the schedule is so weak, because right now I don't see any losses the rest of the way. @Ohio State and Michigan St. will be a test though.

Big East is apparently pursuing Navy, Army, Air Force, Temple, Central Florida and SMU. Or a combination of some of those. SMU has now moved in because of TCU, and BE is looking to cash in on the rivalry. I thought the point of expansion was to get better?

WVU needs to move, and quickly.

Where would they go? They've already asked and been rejected by the ACC and SEC. Not enough eyeballs in their fanbase for the TV Boys.

I finally watched a college football game this year - been so busy it just hasn't happened - and got to see UW looking damned fine.

As far as I've read that is speculation. Haven't seen any article that gives a valid source, or quote.

Mizzou Curators vote to explore option, seem to be leaning toward the SEC if the invite is there. The Mountaineers are one of the teams mentioned as a Big 12 replacement team from the Big East, should the Tigers jump ship.

Despite the geographic ridiculousness, West Virginia would probably be a good fit for the Big 12. Comparable athletic program with wholly redneck fanbase.

Looks like TCU might wind up in the Big 12. If you read the SEC blogs/twitter feeds, sounds like SEC writers want WVU instead of Mizzou.

I don't care anymore. WVU will land somewhere.

Big 10? Two rivalries, with Ohio State & Penn State, better than one (Pittsburgh, for now)?

&, yes, I know, there's also (currently, non-conference) rivalry with Maryland & Marshall, but, a, no way WVU is moving to Conference USA*, &, b, no way in Hell Duke & UNC want any part of Huggy Bear, so no ACC, either.

*The original 'screw geography' alignment. They should have their teams vying not for a championship but a Golden Spike.

In the SEC geographical argument, WVU v. Tennessee could develop into a worthwhile yearly game, and WVU v. Kentucky would be an interesting basketball rivalry.

Maryland and Marshall are rivalry games, but only by default. Biggest rivalries were VT and Pitt.

Yeah, TCU got an invite to the Big 12 this morning, and will most likely accept it tomorrow.
I think they made a wise decision, despite the fact they won't ever get out of the Longhorn's shadow.
They'll make more money, have more high profile football opponents and regional rivals in the Big 12, something they wouldn't have in the Big East for long if at all.
Mizzou allegedly fell short of getting enough votes to become the 14th member of the SEC, but they did get a majority of AD's in the SEC to vote for them. They just need to add a little cash to their bribe payments.

I'm not saying it is a rampant SEC thing or that the big boys like LSU or Bama really need to resort to it, but a school like Mizzou might need to sweeten the pot a little to become a member of the conference.
The Cam Newton deal with Miss. State that fell through proves that some SEC boosters/programs are willing to go that route.

One of these years, if they keep hyping it up, this Texas v OU game will produce a match up on the field worth watching.

OU going MC Ren on the Teasippers.

Also, no matter what happens to UGA tonight, or the rest of the SEC season, we gonna have some serious trouble with the North Avenue Nerds.

Yeah, they are Serious Business. It would be awesome though if they came into the game undefeated and we got the win.

Never going to happen. I think they're the most overrated team in CFB. (well, except for Texas).

No offense to Two Guns and Joey Crack but their biggest wins are UNC and NC State and they need some 4th quarter magic to win those.

I think they're well coached as usual but I also think the game at Miami will be a toss up and I think they lose 3 of their last 4. The 3 being Clempson, Va Tech, and UGA. Fuck them.

Agree with Gar though. This is an epic pounding Texas is taking. After their season last year I can't believe they're ranked #11 right now.

Also, fuck Tennessee for life. Nothing sucks like a Big Orange.

The Huskers suck some serious ass this year. I was hoping they would beat the Buckeyes and right the ship enough to win 9-10 games and make a decent bowl game.
They'll be lucky to finish 7-5 with the defense they have this season, since the offense most likely won't score than 20 a game against most Big Ten teams.
I'm not sure what Pelini can do besides recruit some better LB's and develop a true dual threat QB.
It's going to be a long season in these parts with games like this one. Neither the QB nor coaching staff can deal with a local media that is starting to question them more frequently.

Nebraska found a way to get back into the game after trailing 27-6. I jumped off the bandwagon early, so I can't jump back on again tonight.

The Huskers have come alive and now lead 34-27. Joe Bauserman at QB has killed the Buckeyes in the 2nd Half.

The largest comeback in Nebraska History. I guess that is why Pelini is the head coach and I'm sitting behind a computer complaining about him early in this game.

Gator Nation can suck on that jump pass until Tebow comes back.

Yeah, I've thoroughly enjoyed both gang rapes UF has endured the last 2 weeks.

Tyrann Mathieu is a legit defensive Heisman candidate.
