Durant turning into early 90's Jordan for stretches

There was a moment in the 3rd period where Durant drove to about 10 feet, made what seemed like 4 moves, had 2 defenders on him and Stephen Jackson draped ALL over him and he got off a shot that went in. It just seemed to come out of this mass of bodies.

A genuine moment of WTF?

I thought the Thunder were unbeatable at the end of the reg season but quickly jumped on the Spurs. I'm done making predictions.

I'm not so sure about this: Durant is on a good run right now, but he hasn't even matched what LeBron did in taking that POS Cleveland team to the Finals yet. (emphasis on "yet"). We'll see.

resume-wise, lebron may have the edge

but survey the league's GMs and see if it isn't UNANIMOUS as to if they'd rather have durant (including riley)

Silly talk all around. Durant is playing lights out, but his defense isn't even remotely close to LeBron. Durant is a scorer, LeBron is a well rounded player. Probably the most complete in the NBA.

Also, as Kraus pointed out above, Durant is still in potential mode. The great ones go through this and beyond, the good ones stay at this level.

But, should OKC best the Spurs and then the Heat (or Celts) Bron's rep is going in the terlet, Bostrich injury or no Bostrich injury.

Agreed. Also, while I agree with Dale that Lebron is still the better overall player, he's selling Durant short in calling him just a scorer. Durant made big strides in his overall game this year. He's a really good isolation defender now and he's only going to get better.

plus, in one of the most important comparisons between the two, durant is INFINITELY more clutch than lebron

for the playoffs, when defenses can pack things in and you need to be able to hit some jump shots, i'd take durant over lebron. some of the shit durant comes up with on the offensive side of the ball is just ridiculous.

I worry a bit about his longevity as compared to lebron, but he's been healthy so far.

I know that closing out games is the one thing that Lebron needs to work on but this is kinda a silly statement that I'm guessing you are basing on the tiniest of sample sizes. Durant isn't a great closer ala Kobe or Jordan.

He may not be the best player still playing in the playoffs but damned if Rondo isn't the most interesting and the guy I can't keep my eyes off of when he's on the floor. What an animal.

All time great closers:

1. Jordan
2. Jerry West
3. Magic
4. Bird
5. Havlicek
6. Kobe
....
39. Pierce
...
42. Durant
...
55. Rondo
...
107. James

James has "lost" the last three as much as the Celtics won them.

I'm far from a Kobe hater and consider him probably the third (or at worst fourth) best guard of all time, but he has either mailed in or stunk up too many important postseason games to be ranked that highly.
