forgot he was putting out a new one. and against my better judgement, i'm somewhat interested. so it's good? or do i have to keep in mind that you are a total fanboy(girl)

Personally, I think its the lesser of the last three he's put out, but thats just me. IMO his songwriting has slipped a little with each one, but you might like it, it has some redeeming value.

I've heard he's good live. I was thinking about seeing him in Philly in a few weeks...supposed to be a "question jar show" (ala people write down questions and song requests, put them in a jar, and he answers them). The $40 a ticket price tag might keep me away though.

I may be in the minority, but I think 2009 is one of the better years for new music lately.

I don't know where else to put this. Mike Doughty should have a thread.

Saw him last night and I think that was the first time I've seen one of his acoustic shows. I adore him and he's always worth it.

Along with new stuff he played Circles and St. Louise is Listening, which are favorites. I would love to hear Screenwriter's Blues live some day. I think he's become my second most viewed live act.

As I was buying a poster at the end of the show he came up and stood next to me. Some superdude fan was blathering on about where he should play and all the places he's seen him and what he'd like to hear live and yada yada yada, as I was given my poster Doughty stopped listening to the guy, looked at me and said "do you want me to sign that?"

I wasn't nervous, but I never have anything to say to anyone. I'm terrible at small talk. It's a problem, so I said I would very much and then told him to have a good night. He said the same and I left. I'm a dweeb, but that made my month, or year maybe.

Saw Doughty last night and it was great. in fact it was perfect. It was a renovated movie theatre, and though the G.A. seats were of the folding kind, there wasn't a bad seat in the house (tix were only 25 bucks). We got there at 9 and he came on like 5 minutes later (I'm notorious for having bad timing when going to shows - i ALWAYS get there too early or too late.

He played solo, then with this dude Scrap on cello who was awesome, then some with Scrap on electric, then a solo then more with cello accompaniment. two song encore. Every four songs or so they would reach into the jar and answer questions. He was cool and funny. Close to a 2 hour show.

Loved the songs off Sad Man Happy Man that he played. (PM incoming Wench).

How about some brief descriptions of these albums, instead of just a list. (I'm looking your way, OPA).
