Watched and enjoyed that game. Aside from the P6, y'alls QB is money.

Yea, that was a little bit uncharacteristic but I'll take it, given his overall play today. Love that guy.

1) Oregon St. pulls off the upset

1) Maybe I'm in the minority, but I actually want to see Boise St. run the table and get a slot in the MNC game (preferably against Bammer).

I was pulling for the Beavs tonight too.

I think an undefeated Nevada will take out an undefeated BSU on 11/26 in Reno. That will be a fun game to watch.

It might be a good game but unless BSU overlooks someone else and loses they'll be prepared for this game and i always side with Chris Peterson in that type of situation.

Fucking Eh.
Nebraska played inexcusably poor last night. I swear to god that half the O-line looked like they were on narcotics or literally sleep walking at the end of the game. Plus, Taylor Martinez acted like a punk bitch early on, when he taunted SDSU after a first down run shortly after fumbling on the first play from scrimmage.

They really needed to come through with the blow out victory after Texas lost and OU played poorly once again, but the offense chose to play its worst game since it lost to ISU last season.
I wish I had my three hours back from watching that crapfest last night.

It keeps on pouring in UGA land, another player arrested andsubsequently kicked off the team.

Bummed that WVU dropped out of the Top 25 with a loss to LSU. It wasn't like we got blown out.

Dude, I completely feel for you guys right now. Not only have I dealt with two losing seasons this decade, the Huskers always seem to have at least one or two players who fuck up big time during the off season that get dismissed from the team. They also always seem to play a crucial position that is already short on depth.
I'm not celebrating the demise of UGA Football or taunting anyone for losing three straight SEC games for the first time since 1993.
I was going to ask if you thought Richt could make it one more year if he fully cleaned house like Solich did in 2003, but maybe I just need to focus on my own team for a while.

I think that it is the overall weakness of the Big East this year and the fact that the Bayou Bengals have had some offensive struggles this year that caused that too happen. Plus, it is early in the season, and you have to bump up teams that are still unbeaten like Nevada up into the Top 25.
If the Mountaineers were ranked higher than #20 before the loss, they would probably still be in the Top 25.

We're all a little raw right now. I think you can say that though none of us had illusions of a National Championship, we also did not see the wheels coming completely off this era -- it's like we're The Bush Administration circa October 2008 ;)

The biggest problem with getting rid of Richt is the $8 Million buy out clause, and the 97 wins in 10 years. How do you think players, coaches and even some fans would feel after you run off the coach that delivered you the best decade in your program's long history?

He couldn't get over the hump, but like Marv Levy, but for the way the ball bounces, the guy could have 3 or 4 SEC Titles and/or MNCs. I don't like the precedent it sets personally, but I also have mixed feelings about his ability to right the ship.

I will say this - as far back as 2006 I thought Bobo was a bad OC, and I continue to think that unless they get someone in that position who can build confidence and build the unit up, I don't think what happens at HC matters all that much.

Their Tecmo Bowl offense, lack of coherence, and even lack of scripted plays for an opening drive or a 2 minute drill is what drives us all crazy. I can show you 3 instances from the last 3 games that if they call the right play, we probably win.

And let's not forget that if Washaun holds onto 2 balls, the outcome is either different, or decidedly less certain.

That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Loogs, I know the feeling.
The 2007 Nebraska team was ranked #14 heading into their game against #1 USC, College Gameday showed up, all us Husker fans had been drinking the kool-aid and believing a Callahan led team might actually contend for a BCS bowl game. After getting smited by the Trojans in an ABC primetime game, they ended up losing five straight Big 12 games in blow out fashion. Thanks to a contract extension signed early in that season, we had to pay him something like 3.3 million after Tom Osborne fired him.

When Steve Pederson fired Solich in 2003, he then had a .750 winning percentage and finished the season with a 9-3 record after bringing in a new defensive coordinator and a bunch of young assistant coaches, I can tell you that the fans quickly became skeptical of the decision when prospective head coaches turned down the job and said there was far too much pressure to deal with in Lincoln for that sum of money. I would hope that UGA gave Richt another year, but told him he had to give full control of the offense to a new coordinator and gave him a set number of wins he needed to save his job.

I just can't imagine firing a Tom Osborne type coach who took 24yrs to win a National Title, when UGA only has one AP National title in the history of their illustrious football history. Richt has yet to have a losing season, so I think he's earned at least one before he gets canned and his win percentage is higher than Vince Dooley.

You should post this verbatim in that email thread with Stu's friends. Those jackal's would not be as rational.

At any rate, I agree with most of your sentiments although the thing that really bothered me the other night was that I never, from the outset, felt like were were in that game. We were in the SC game and most definitely in the Arkansas game but not so much the other night. Pitiful.

Yeah, my biggest complaint of all against CMR and Co. is that a Saban or Meyer coached team appears to walk on the field with the swagger that says "We WILL beat you. No matter who you are."

CMR teams have always seemed to me to go on the field with the "We can probably play with these guys" attitude, at the very best, and a "Oh shit these dudes are going to eat our lunch" attitude at the very best.

And if that doesn't change, maybe we do need a new HC.

I'm with whomever it was who said we need to hire a REAL Offensive Coordinator and let Richt handle other head coaching duties.

A new strength-and-conditioning coach would probably help too. You do have to think that the team's mentality comes from the top down. We need some blood-thirsty kids in there on D ready to decapitate people and have linemen who are strong and quick enough to blow out defensive linemen. Whatever it is, Richt needs to wake-up, pull his head out of his ass and realize SOMETHING has to change in order to get this program back on track.

To say the least. Guess I'm just tired of it. After a nightmarish Saturday night the millions of Dawg fans woke up with that dook log in our Cheerio's (the 10th arrest) Sunday morning. Like we didn't already know this. I realize it's just posting about Obner football schools but I'm worn thin. Having trouble finding any positives right now.

I waited all year for THIS?

Also, I don't care if Richt loses every single game from here on out. He won't be fired. He'll get a chance to turn it around, which, like Loog, I'm no longer confident he can do.

Like I read in one of UGA blogs (with regards to Richt):

LBJ: "That's it. I've lost Cronkite. I've lost middle America."

FWIW, Georgia had that swagger when they had Van Gorder and now the Falcons have it possibly because of him.

This is our strength and conditioning coaching staff:
http://www.georgiadogs.com/sports/m-foo ... ave00.html (former position: the same at FSU)
http://www.georgiadogs.com/sports/m-foo ... rex00.html (former position: redneck from Oconee County)
http://www.georgiadogs.com/sports/m-foo ... ith00.html (former position: head of strength and conditioning for WOMEN'S TENNIS)
http://www.georgiadogs.com/sports/m-foo ... joe00.html (former position: father of Joe T III, aka one of the worst UGA QB's in history)
http://www.georgiadogs.com/sports/m-foo ... lay00.html

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same result... We obviously need a shot in the arm to get our stale staff replaced with someone ready to make these kids believe in being champions.

Funny, I remember Van Halanger being cited as THE reason why UGA under Richt was so much better than under Donnan.

Also, fans discussing strength and conditioning coaches is actually more sad than talking about recruiting. Pick up a book, Stu.

Say what you will about Strength and conditioning, but Nebraska was the first school to have a Strenghth and Conditioning coach, so it is held in slightly higher regard than a Rivals or Scout recruiting ranking is in this part of the country.

Solid Michigan State win today, setting up a juicy contest against Michigan next week. Looking forward to it, even though Denard Robinson (who accounted for 495 yards of offense today) gives me the night sweats. Do college scoreboards go to triple digits?

Georgia shitting the bed early. At least Ben and Co can smoke out til they choke out to get over this bs.

Also: Les Miles Clock Manager was able to foil a great victory for Derrick Dooley and Company in one of the Failest endings to any game I've ever seen.

Let's just assume we all know how fucked up our situation is, and that none of y'all need to say anything.

Also, someone needs to find Hal Haddon's number for Derris - not sure he gets out of Boulder alive.

Les Miles: Clock Manager = Epic fail indeed. More like Les Miles: Cock Manager
Fans here are calling for the head of Les even if we win the national championship. That's how bad it's gotten for an undefeated team. It's OK, the big boys are coming up, and we have no QB even though Jarret Lee managed to get us to withing easy striking distance of an earned win before the hat took over.
