Are there any Steelers fans on this board?

yes.

i'm excited for the game and kinda thrilled with the current atmosphere between steelers and packers fans. my friends who are packers fans are just kinda like, "this should be a hell of a game." there's no animosity because the teams play each other rarely and the communities are pretty similar - smaller cities with a ridiculously high percentage of residents interested in football, and very wide fanbases. my biggest worry right now is pouncey's health.

Yeah, I agree that this feels like a great matchup of tradition-rich smaller-market teams with absolutely huge fanbases with little or no animosity towards each other. Of course, in the next two weeks, I'm sure the whole Roethlisberger suspension issue will probably come up numerous times. But, for the most part, little drama. Tomlin & McCarthy are so low-key, it's refreshing.

I'm a Hines Ward fan. I actually grew up hating The Steelers, but in this era, it's more about the players and the way the organization conducts itself than any sort of regional loyalty for me....Plus, The Cowboys fucking suck, so I have to have an alternate, winning, team to pull for.

Yeah, Hines and Polamalu are my favorite non Falcons so I have something of a bias towards the Steelers as well. Their fanbase may be the most annoying in America that no one mentions when they talk about annoying fanbases, but hey, Stairway to Seven, AMIRITE?!?

Plus, his rape-bro personae aside, I like that Ben is the sort of future Hall of Famer that you will have to explain to people just why he was so great, because they are going to look at his stat line in some of these games and be like "This guy was Turd McTurderson!"

Yeah, those terrible towels are used for either wiping their asses/soaking up vomit or chloroforming victims, and nothing else. And Big Ben totally is the type of guy who wears a beard so he can "remember" the ladies, but so was Kenny Stabler, and look what we think of HIM.

I kinda gained a new respect for Big Ben after he got his nose twisted, on a horribly injured foot, and played on. That being said, I want the Pack to win the SB.
