It arrived, and it's fun. The reverbs (Hall and Room) are WIERD but cool. Both have a swelling delay effect to them, so that when you max them out it is NOT just reverb... it's much more etherial. But dialed back they do what I wanted, which is wet-up my sound a bit. Should work well with the steel. And the drives are awesome, if unconfigurable. Fuzz and Drive, and there are zero settings for them, just a knob to decide between either of them or Clean.

Funky, weird pedal, and I like it.

Dig it, glad that worked out for you.

Now you need an EH H.O.G.

Wondering if that's the thing I used on Bloor's pedal board for FailFest '12 (aka Derris's damned-ol wedding)?

I’m pleased to report that after 12 years of having a broken mini toggle switch for the tremolo on one of the channels (it broke while loading at Pluma!) and at least 5 years of having no working reverb, I finally dropped the damned thing off to get fixed Saturday at that awesome new shop near home. And they already got it done, on Sunday. I believe the bill is less than $100, too. Shit was HARD to get down the damned stairs alone – I am very literally sore in several places – but biking it in via a trailer was pretty easy.

I have the POG2

Very versatile with the possibility of being insanely over the top pedal.

THAT thing was fun.

I am learning that the Holy Stain is not just a little quirky, it's really fucking quirky. I still like it, but you can't just get the reverb you want, you can sorta only get the kind IT wants. Both the room and hall have a serious delayed intro / lag to them, and you can tweak how much of it you hear, sorta, but there's no "just plain old reverb" option, not exactly. Sounds really good, and it will do for sure. Gonna bring it to band (!) practice this evening. Been playing with a co worker in a huge building with practice spaces up in North Crackton. Last week was the first time, and it was fun enough not to quit. But they need work. And a drummer.

Took it (pedal) to practice last night, and I am smitten.

1. The deeper end of the Room reverb is perfect for songs where you just want the steel sweeping in on chords - where you don't ever want to hear pick noise.
2. Having a Tone knob as well as a 3-way voicing knob (Dark, Bright, Warm) means switching from the pedal to the tele is incredibly easy, and doesn't require touching the amp knobs. Click it drom Dark (pedal) to Bright (tele), and maybe roll the Tone knob up a touch. Maybe not. Stay seated on the stool, tele on your lap on a short strap, and switching is super quick.
3. The Drive setting is FUN. We did "When The Levee Breaks" and I was able to swell in all the slide work, which was a ton of fucking fun. Hope I get to do that live somewhere someday.

But now the banjo player has family issues and cannot come to practice much, maybe once a month TOPS. Sucks. I was starting to enjoy this.

Had to sell my son's Danelectro reissue. Sad to see it go, but it was his, he wasn't playing it anymore, and he wanted to use the money from the sale to buy a skateboard.

Wasn't about to buy it from him, when I bought it for him in the first place. And I'm not the kind of dad that just takes stuff like that from his kids. He's happy with his new board and hopefully will continue to be.

Yeah I've had the original 71 sho-bud volume pedal all along. When I first got it the pot was scratchy as hell, and it took me 6 months to replace the pot, so I started playing without one, and it was a hard habit to break. I use it more now, and it helps.

Just bought one of those
SNARK Clip-on tuners

Love it.
Never experimented with open/alternate tunings before, but now that I have the Snark, it's way easy to mess around with them.
Very, very cool and highly recommended.

$74. So awesome. Welcome back, reverb, I've missed you.

Brought the home-made amp to the practice space last night, first time it's left home. Holy shit, it was nice. First of all, even at 7 watts and with a 50-watt rated speaker, it is LOUD. Cannot imagine when I will need 15 watts. Also, it wants to break up early - it stays purely clean til about 2/10 on the Volume, tops, then it begins to get glassy and Vox-ey. By 5/10 it has a little crackle and snarl, and by 7 it's properly crunchy in its own way. Above 7/10 it just gets fuller and thicker. The master volume was a good idea - I can get big volume without much dirt that way, which is funny, because I usually think of Master Volumes as offering the opposite.

It twanged and sparkled and jumped. It had that "damn that's a nice amp" magic. The experiment can be called a success.

That's how the Master works on the Black Pearl as well.

I'm saving up for my album, but the more I think about it, the more I think I should just by a nice acoustic.

Making an album is about as efficient a use of your money as making a bonfire out of your savings, except you can't roast marshmallows with it.

I've wanted a GOOD acoustic for like a decade. But they're just so much damned money.

Collings being a perfect example.
I have never heard a more-beautiful sound come out of a guitar, but one of those will run you $5,000.00... MINIMUM.

I play a Martin D-17 and I love it, and I've never regretted buying it. but I still get jealous every time I play this that or the other guitar.

here is a way too big image to post

Thanks to this thread I dreamt about acoustics last night. I picked one up, tapped the top in a lot of places, and noted how dead and thuddy it sounded. I was not pleased.
