I got no beef with Pete Carroll, but would the college football experts finally stop sucking his cock? For all the insane talent he recruits, he always blows a bullshit game. No disrespect to the Huskies, but USC was expected to win the AFC West this year.

Jim Tressel gets dogged, and to a point deservedly so. Let's take Pete Carroll and USC down a notch, dammit.

Agreed. But ya know, he's good looking and Herbstreit likes to piss in his john. What you gonna do?

I'll be honest I'd probably be happier being 2-1 like Georgia, than 2-1 like Nebraska is now, but that Dawg defense is absolute shit so far.
The Huskers at least played comparable defense to Bama of the SEC and held V Tech to fewer points while on the road.
I'm hoping we get past the Ragin Caguns with relative ease and are prepared for Mizzou.
That LSU/UGA game in a few weeks should be a doozy.

We played defense? I saw no evidence that we even had a defense to describe as shit. Looks like I am headed to Athens for that LSU game, too!

Thanks Bob. It was a nice moment.

Your boys squeaked one out as well. Washington plays at Notre Dame in 2 weeks---should be an entertaining game.

In the Poll that matters in the BCS process, Washington remains unranked.
Nebraska fell to #24, while Mizzou jumps past them to #21.
USC remains in the top ten and Miami is one spot behind Virginia Tech at #13

TCU sneaks into a BCS game according ESPN. Nebraska vs USC in the Holiday Bowl would be pretty epic.

I'd except the Alamo, only for the chance to beat another lowly Big Ten team in San Antonio.

A man trumpeting the return to campus of Slick Rick Neuheisel should not be saying this.

You can hate USC. You can hate USC for a plethora of reasons. But to disparage the school &/or its teams for reasons of ethics, you better have a pristine programme, historically, or at least one not run by a "troubled" coach.

Of course, some will never learn this. Thus, Calipari at Kentucky. Have they forgotten the reign of Eddie Sutton? & closer to your house, Harry -- Jim Harrick.

Harrick was a criminal. RN I think the case is overstated against him, but yeah, probably some slime in there... but Petey is extolled as the wonderful human who oozes love all over South Central while he is total slime... and gets a pass... the LA Times never uttering a whisper against him... and 98% of sportscasters slobbering with anticipation of touching the hem of his garment. A least RN is described as a crook... not a social worker nun.

Let's not forget how Petey openly came out and said Mark Sanchez leaving early was a big mistake. Publicly. Yeah, how'd that work out for Sanchez?

I think he knew what he was going to be dealing with this year. Still, you can't say that shit about one of your players.

YOU LIE!

But yeah, our defense is non-existent and I've now joined the bandwagon of wanting our D-coordinator run out of town on a rail. We continue this way and we're going 8-4. LSU will be able to stop our Offense.

That said, AJ Green is the best receiver in the nation.

Lastly, Prometh, slow you roll on comparing Nebraska's defensive performance to Bama's against Va Tech. Anyone that watched that Bama/VT game knows that Bama controlled that game all day and a couple of special teams plays kept it close. I seriously think they held them to like 150 yards total or something.

Not saying it wasn't a valiant effort though. That's a tough loss. Thought about you while watching that all play out. Brutal.

Outside of the BCS itself, early season rankings (and pre-season rankings for that matter) are the biggest plague upon the sport.

Ole Miss at #5 (#4 in some polls) after beating Memphis and SE Louisiana is laughable. Some of these rankngs are based solely on reputation which is a fucking joke.

IMO, rankings shouldn't come out until around week 5 or 6.

The rankings look really weird with the following in it:

BYU
TCU
Missouri
Cincinnati
Houston
Mississippi
Boise State
North Carolina

I remember when all these football programs were in the toilet.

You take away that 81yd pass play at the end of the game by Virginia Tech and the Hokies were held to 197 by the Huskers. The Hokies also had a big kick return to set up their opening TD. I'd say that was comparable to Bama's Defense performance. Alabama just happened to win where it really counts, on the scoreboard.

Bragging about shutting down Virginia Tech's offense is like dunking on a six foot basket.

Timmy will be absolutely Jacked if this comes true. They have Cincinnati playing Florida in the BCS Title game. Notre Dame is also back in the BCS mix, playing Miami in the Orange Bowl. All three of the Armed Forces schools are projected into a bowl, that would be the first time in history that they all attended one in the same year.

Urban Meyer is really starting to reach epic douchebag status. He used a time out to run it up on Georgia last year, and now makes it look like the Vols were too scared to play Florida straight up and just ran out the clock.

Even if the Vols played it conservative, they still forced Tim "Jesus Christ" Tebow into a few turnovers and kept within two touchdowns of the preordained National Champions.

Reason no. 1 why Tha U's quarterback should win the Heisman: he doesn't believe Tebow is a virgin. Such field-vision will aid him well this year... But enough to accumulate Heisman stats? God, I hope so.

Jacked is an understatement, but if they are predicting Notre Dame in the BCS mix, their credibility took a huge hit.

The College Football Hall of Fame, which never managed to attract the number of visitors its organizers hoped for after moving it to South Bend in 1995, is being moved to Atlanta to bring it more exposure, organizers told the city.

The National Football Foundation notified the city of South Bend in a letter Tuesday that it is terminating its agreement with the city when its current lease ends on Dec. 31, 2010.

"We take this action not because of any failure on your part, but because we have an opportunity to take the exposure of the Hall of Fame to an entirely new level," wrote Archie Manning, chairman of the National Football Foundation and the College Football Hall of Fame.

I got an unsolicited text message about this yesterday. Makes sense, Atlanta is pretty much the college football crossroads and also well equipped to handle something touristy like this. (one could argue that not only should the Chik Fil-A/Peach Bowl be a BCS game but that the MNC game should be played in Atlanta on at least a rotating basis)

I don't know much about the tourism industry or how other Hall of Fame centers really do compared to this one, but if I was traveling to Atlanta I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it there. I've always thought it was a good idea to keep them in places like Canton, Springfield, Cooperstown, etc rather than compete with other tourist entities in major cities.

I wonder how much people had avoided this since it was within the realm of Notre Dame Football. They should have considered building it by Yale, Princeton or Rutgers since they had a lot to do with establishing the game.

It will be interesting to see what happens within the next decade as bowl games like the Insight, Alamo, Chic Fil A and Cotton continue to throw more money and gain better selection match-ups. I'd personally like to see the BCS title game in a separate location from one of the Big Four BCS bowl games and think a Super Bowl style bidding process on the event would generate a ton of revenue.

I think before it moved to South Bend, it was in Mason, OH (Cincinnati) right by Kings Island (with the nixed McNair Halloween setup). My high school (Moeller) used to play their home games there until the museum moved and they tore the entire facility down.

The only people I ever saw up there were the ones attending my high school games.
