hey toots, how long has the sleeve taken so far (hours)?

hard to say because i started this in '01. probably had 10-12 hrs invested then, but my guy was a lot slower. now he's fast, and i've put another 6 hours in or so, most of that in re-brightening what was already there. this was the first of many add-ons.

if i had him start fresh, he could probably do the same coverage in 12-15 hours. we do a 3 hr session once a month.

No worries. I'm obviously too busy to notice any type of shenanigans. Though, I'll throw out my own randonmness...

My sister and her two grown children are moving in my tiny two bedroom home this weekend. I.am.afraid.

Two grown kids? As in out of high school? Here's hoping that's extremely temporary.

Timmy, you're more right than you know! Sis is going through a divorce. Her (mine too, I suppose) family is extremely dysfunctional (bipolar ex beat up his 23 yr old son and shoved around sis this past weekend -- both have multiple contusions but no broken bones); nephew is also bipolar and currently operating sans meds (let's just say that I'm afraid for one of my dogs and will have to place a lock on my bedroom door - he has been known to steal things); and 19 yr old HS drop out niece...well, she's just lazy. In addition to the three of them, they're also bringing three small dogs, one rabbit and a baby squirrel (yes, you read that correctly...a baby squirrel). I have three dogs and will now change my home name to "Zoo Fixation" vs Chez Fixation.

It's only for a couple of months. It's only for a couple of months. *repeat over and over*

My saving grace? Thank goodness I spend a lot of time at the office.

I say this out of love, but I hope you are prepared for either a permanent situation, or a forced eviction.

As my dad said once - anything given to family is not a loan, it's a gift. You'll never get it back no matter what the agreement, so just chalk it up as money (or things, etc) you won't be getting back.

Good luck, chica. I hope you have laid down some hard and fast ground rules. You know, like, first thing missing and you're all outta here?

Tania, if you want a Vermont getaway, I'll sleep on my couch and you can have my bedroom. Hell, I'll sleep in one of our empty apartments so you can have a place of your own.

That's one case of added subtitles actually improving something like that. Those were great.

He's going on a book tour with Joel Osteen next week.

If I remember the original clip, his dad is the pastor and he came up and took the mic. So, I don't think he's a baby Marjoe or anything.

from AINT IT COOL, they did a fan Q&A with Sylvester Stallone....Sly gives his thoughts on what happened to 3 of his most famous opponents...

Quote:
9. Dear Mr. Stallone;

As awesome as your movie ROCKY BALBOA was in updating us and giving closure to one of the most loved cinematic characters in history, I was very highly disappointed in not being updated and thus having closure on Rocky's past opponents. You had mentioned in the past talkbacks that we would see Mr. T return as Clubber Lang only to see a 3 second archive clip! Come on Sly, throw us a bone here!! ;) You must agree that in order to have a successful protagonist you need a successful antogonist,

What happened to Clubber Lang? Did he become a boxing analyst or perhaps a televangelist after finding God?

What happened to Ivan Drago? Especially after the Glagnost & the fall of communism, it would have been interesting to see what happened to him. Did he migrate to the US and hook up with some hot U.S. Gymnast after divorcing his wife? Did he he become disabled due to his heavy steroid use?

Then you have Tommy "Machine" Gunn. Did he become a drug wasted hasbeen? Did he see the error of his ways even though it was too late? Was he convicted or raping a beauty queen in an elevator at a Las Vegas casino?

Surely these former opponents of Rocky didn't fall off the face of the earth after being defeated by the Itallian Stallion. Not only do the fans (especially me) need closure but these awesome characters you created need closure too. I assume they paid for your swimming pool & your indoor bowling alley! ;)

Anyway a quick update on what happened to these now classic characters would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely with the utmost respect to you & your work!

9. Okay Tim, that one hits me right between the eyes.

In the last ROCKY I had written an elaborate storyline for Mr. T (AKA Clubber Lang,) which was reminiscent of George Foreman, who became a ringside analyst. In the script he was doing blow-by-blow commentary and also talking about his new profession of being an evangelist in the making. I thought it was wonderful because he was describing what it was like to fight Rocky Balboa while Rocky was fighting someone else. Unfortunately we couldn’t meet the actor’s financial requirements because we didn’t have enough money to buy fax paper, so I replaced him with HBO commentator Max Kellerman.

Ivan Drago I always believed went back to Russia where he was scorned and badgered into a position of disgrace and eventually succumbed to alcoholism and unfortunately then suicide.

As for Tommy Gunn, he was exposed as being a project that would never be fully developed as a man and also succumbed to a life of a mediocre fighter barn storming around the country and eventually transforming himself into Tommy ‘Boom Boom’ Gunn, second rate wrestler performing exclusively in the Midwest in third rate venues.

Apollo Creed, after his death had a very successful comeback in DAWN OF THE DEAD. But you’ll be hard pressed to recognize him because of severe decomposition.

And as for Adrian, she’s still working in that great pet shop in the sky waiting for Rocky to return.

She has avoided moving in with me for over 4 years and she likes the area where they're currently at. The nice thing about moving in with me (aside from saving $$) is that she works for the city I live in. She can keep an eye on things, come home for lunch, etc. And she's actively looking for a condo / smaller home to rent. I have no problem nudging her out if things don't proceed as planned.

As for any crimes committed against my animals, me or my home immediately equate to an eviction. She was made aware of this from the very beginning and agreed it was fair request. Her husband is definitely not welcomed in my home.

God help me.

When did I sign up for the Family Drama Class?

Just received a call -- nephew was arrested by PD today. Charge? Burglary. He and friend(s) broke into the local school and stole a laptop, monitors, projector and screen about a week ago. Details are unclear as to how the cops figured out he/they had done it, but one of the accomplices had been arrested, an investigation begun and a search warrant presented. They found a couple of the stolen goods and photos of the items on his mobile. It is suspected that he had sold one of the items (mini laptop) on Craigslist.

My nephew has the mind of a 12 year old. If he is convicted and sent to jail, he won't last very long. Then again, it is his first offense.

I don't even know what to say. My sister is in tears and has no clue what to do. My family has hit rock bottom. This sorta thing is not supposed to happen to people like us. Right?

My apartment got broken into last month (right before I went on vacation for 11 days) and as such I've been without computer at mi casa until this very moment. Part of the reason I've been scarce around here lately. I'm rocking a fiiiine MacBook Pro now and man, it feels nice to not have to sneak all my Interneting in during little breaks at the office.

So, hi everybody! What's the haps?

My DVD player, an old cellphone, a drycleaning bag (but not the clothes in it?), like $3 in rolled change (but not the stack of cash and change sitting 2 feet away) and a 7 year old iPod that was effectively a doorstop. Clearly, these were some master criminals.

Thankfully, it happened on a night I was doing UB The DJ, so I had my camera (and a bunch of un-backed up pics) and my 2 heavy use iPods with me at the time. And they didn't break or damage anything, just went through a bunch of stuff, so it was a matter of surveying what was missing and putting everything back in its place. I was already on the fence leaning toward moving before that, and I made it official after I got back from MI. Heading to S Austin in Sept, gonna have a nice 2 bedroom so I can have an office again. We makin' some shee happen in 2010.
