Per Grantland, Vincent Kartheiser -- who is apparently a combination Dusty? Chalk? & Hegel -- is putting it to Rory Gilmore IRL.

last week's was definitely the best episode of what has been a somewhat subpar season (by MM standards)

But, FT, the 'Bob Benson' character is the greatest ever.

Even if the fucker is written a Beloit College alum (LOMIT!) he has grown into my favorite. With an assist to Mark Lisanti at Grantland, of course.

We're also loving the Benson. I expect it to be revealed he isn't even employed there, and just lurks the hallways.

yeah, bob benson's good for an awkward laugh or two per episode - i keep expecting his clearly insidious motives to be eventually exposed

That bit he wrote about Cooper's fixation on tentacle porn was hilarious.

So is Bob really gay or is this just yet another Bob Benson manipulation?

Completely bizarro and random but my bro-in-law's Uncle was apparently contacted out of the blue by some music publishing company on behalf of Mad Men to see if they could get the rights to use their song. It was used as the credits rolled on the "Tale of Two Cities" ep this season:

The Fly By Nites - "Found Love" (1967, Atlanta)

This was apparently his high school band and they only put this and maybe one other single out.

Holy obscure Batman.

i think the fact that he apparently passed on having at it with beach-bound joan skews the likelihood strongly toward the former

Yea, agreed. This article provides good reasoning why he wouldn't be lying about it: http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/2013/06/ma ... avors.html

For a split second I thought Pete was going to roll with it.

That was a brilliantly awkward scene although the "closeted gay guy makes a pass" storyline seems a bit lazy.

Wonder if Todd Ploharski is a music consultant on the show?

Also, is is possible to hate Pete Campbell worse than I already did? I think so...

Ready for him to pull a Lane, but Pete would never let the world off that easy.

It was so shocking to see Peggy whip out the cleave...and IN THE OFFICE no less. She wanted her some CHAOUGH-CHAOUGH-CHAOUGH!

Oh, and shame on Manolo.

Draper's breakdown/confessional/epiphany during the Hershey's pitch was one of the top three OMG/WTF moments in the entire run of this series to date. Just a jaw-dropper. And, as it turns out, quite possibly a career-ender. Back to the fur game???
