Been living with gf (that I've been dating for 9 months) for, well, 8 months. Nothing in my life could be more perfect than it is right now. And I've never been able to say that.

I'm sure I'll be fucking it up any time now.

Good for you! We quit smoking almost two months ago, and I had three cigs at three weak times while out drinking during the first few weeks but haven't had any now in a while. You'll feel a million times better.

I'm also forcing myself to eat better and working out again. And as for drinking, well you don't have to quit totally, you'll have too many fallbacks if you do. Just cut back greatly. I have a couple glasses a wine during the week and that's about it. And if we go out I'll have a couple beers. But I'm done with the getting drunk to get drunk thing. I don't like the feeling the next day because then I can't work out or read or just basically function. Yick.

No, but I should be.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I also quit smoking on Halloween of last year and have stuck to it. I'm very proud of that.

If I drink, I will most certainly smoke.

So no drinking.

The plan goes like this. Quit everything fun. Drop alot of weight. Save some cash. Move to L.A. and substitute teach until such a time that I'm making a living solely off of playing bass.

hold on, what? so you ARE moving downtown? and did you get busted looking at www.blacksonblondes.com at work? and why are you not drinking anymore? it's like i don't know you anymore.

not downtown, the lady still has school to attend, and we found a pretty sweet crib that has 2 porches.

no, I got busted emailing constantly the day before I left for Austin, apparently.

I'm not drinking anymore for various reasons, but mostly because it's nice to take a sober take on life every 6-7 months, a vacation from drinking. Don't worry, pal. I'll still be a complete moron, just with less slurring. I'll be back before you know.

Damn, son, that's a plan! And from what I understand, you're more than good enough to pull it off. People like you NEED to make a living off bass... it's just right.

P.S. Bassists are traditionally fatasses, so no pressure there.

The amount of fuckng crazy people talkng crazy sht about not fuckng drinking s just too goodamned fuckng crazy for me.

Now, cutting back during the week either out of concerns for mental, physical or finanancial well being (or all 3) is one thing...but not getting drunk anymore, or drinking at all...well that's just crazy talk (though I had a fleeting thought I might wanna do this for law school...its just to crazy)

Hopefully I'm gonna win an election today, take the LSAT October 1 (I just got word on some more king hell letters of recomendation I can get) and raise more money than any candidate for AG of Alabama ever has.

Not to quibble, but this race will take 3-4 MILLION dollars.
Since March of 2004, I have raised $1.1 million for 2 Democrats in Mobile, and when I worked for the Gov, we did 3.4 million in 3 months.

add that to a congressional in GA ($1.2 mil) and a weak dick Senate race in NH ($500,000) and you have...oh enough money to compete in every race I've been a part of.

I think the first sentence in there was overlooked Phil.
What happened? Is this a good or a bad thing?

I think quitting smoking is brilliant. The drinking I only do rarely in social occasions.

well, Trial Lawyerin is big in these parts. As is teh Education Association, Coal Companies, The Power Company, developers, and land owners, nursing homes, the state docks, etc...Don't worry your ugly little head about it, I got this bitch on lock when it comes to who gives money in this muthafucka.

My point about VA/NC was that despite them having 2-3 largish cities each, get off the beaten path and you get places like Como, Murfreesboro, and other places where they raise pigs.

yeah i know what you meant. I was fucking with you, you see, because for once i'm at work and just as i remembered it i am bored. i'm not actually claiming some kind of advantage because i don't live in Alabama. Although i've only been to huntsville and am glad that i do not live there.
