Yeah, pretty much. She knew more or less where he was, but not exactly. Her grandmother's freaking out. I guess the guy wandered around the country for years. I suppose he could have gotten himself killed any number of times in any number of locations over the years. I understand why my friend is upset - estranged father stops associating with her and then disappears. But yeah, you're right, he might have just evacuated to a crappy motel somewhere inland and is too dense to get in touch with his family.

See, that's the thing - I don't fucking see the point of comparing/arguing over whether one thing was worse than the other. Or complaining about some comparison someone down in N.O. made - whether its accurate or not.

There's going to be a LOT of people dead in this case ( WAY more than 100....there's almost that many in 1 apartment complex ALONE ) . Who gives a shit if there's been cases where it's been worse or not as bad before? There's a horrible scenario playing out right NOW.
