I'm not pro-drug nor anti-drug, but driving under the influence of marijuana is not a good idea for 99% of the people I've ever known.

now that I'm over thirty, I pretty much can't have more than 4-5 drinks or the entire next day is totally shot. I wish I could still smoke dope because the day after an overindulgence with pot is just a fuzzy day, not a nauseous, want to die day.

how can you live in portland and have never tried pot?
that's like going to Hershey Park and skipping the chocolate.

that's a good question since my roomates in college used to grow it in the basement and had maps to their operations up in the coast range.

after college i just wasn't around it as much and was usually drunk anyway.

coke kicks the shit out of either with one hand tied behind its back....just no rock please that shit and the people who smoke it make me wanna puke

but, i'm old and boring now...and don't like hasseling with illegal substances, so alcohol is best these days, unless i happen to end up somewhere with someone passing something around

i do remember a drug awareness day at my high school when a student asked the speaker which he though was worse, pot or booze, and the guy had a good answer...

he said that while he wasn't here to promote either one and they both had many pitfalls, he'd never seen a guy smoke a joint and beat the shit out of his best friend

Beat me to it.

Pothead worst case scenario : they eat all the Cheetos.

Drunk worst case scenario : you're cleaning up puke the next morning.

I haven't done either in years, but in my day I was pretty fucking hardcore about it. And I much prefer the Demon Weed.

And I'm surprised at the number of Obnerians that have never tried pot.

being around stoners can be extremely annoying - especially ones who have to smoke all the time like some of my friends or my sister who was smoking weed in the parking lot at my dad's funeral with a bunch of her hippie friends.

you get a lot of annoying pot smokers in portland - a shit load...i don't give a flying fuck if you can build a half mile suspension bridge with hemp, I don't want to sign your goddamn petition.

That's more like the best case scenario for a drunk

the worst case scenario is he smashes things, beats people up, or splatters a face all over a dashboard deciding to drive

i think the problem here is that 95% of you have no idea how to enjoy marijuana while exactly 95% of you were forced to drink alchohol under peer pressure scenarios when you were young'n

God, we got higher than giraffe pussy in high school, because the shit was so much easier to come by.

All you had to do stop at Joe's house. For booze, shit. You either had to know someone with an older brother or hoof up to South Baltimore or some other someone-should-keep-an-eye-on-the-car liquor store.

i just don't understand you people. At least crackheads are funny. There's like four instances ever in which coke is a good idea.

I can see what your saying, but it's not true for me. I was never peer pressured into alcohol. Alcohol is a social activity, and I like that aspect of it. But most of all I generally like the feeling of being drunk to stoned. Also being drunk leads to great stories and great memories. I have some pretty good memories with pot but nothing like alcohol.

Exactly..same with all drugs during HS. Fuck my parking lot was basically an "open air drug bazaar." As were several of teh bathrooms during key periods (everyone knows its better to take acid later in the day, so your peaking as you leave school)

Even then, I always preferred booze. Then a mixture, now, just booze.
