I'm not talking about being mugged or something of that nature. It's more of an attitude thing. In a bar, if you allow something to escalate to the point that a fight breaks out, then I think it's partially you're fault. There are always other ways to handle these situations.

Nope only the one where I was stalked for two years and then attacked by the chick at a party. I ran for my life and only hit back when she hit me first.

But seriously chris, people aren't fucked up or trash if they ever get into a fight. Sometimes it happens. To try to say otherwise is complete ignorance and a sign you live in a bubble coated world.

I take it you've been in quite a few fights then.

About 3 that I can recall... or at least ones where I was somewhat coherent.

The first was in high school when a d-wad of a junior (his name was John Walsh) thought it would be funny to pour OJ over a freshman's head during lunch. Mistake on his part. One punch - broken jaw. ( I think my hand may have hurt worse than his jaw)

Second wasn't really a fight but more of a brawl between baseball teams. It was my last game as a starting high-school pitcher and the team we were playing had intentionally (at least WE thought so) plunked our big-hitter twice during the year. Plus they talked & talked & talked a heap of trash. Our team knew it was coming so when their first batter stepped in the box he took one in the back @ 85mph. Both benches emptied, players scurried, punches were thrown, I was tossed in my last game as a high-schooler.

The third and last was playing a gig at The Fab-Mab (Mabuhay Gardens) in SF circa 1979-1980. It was fairly common for fights to break out on & in front of the stage every night..people expectorating at each other as well as at the bands...but the bands usually played on. Not this night. This particular night it got so bad I remember whipping my guitar off and swiping someone's head like i was talking batting practice. Chaos ensued. The band (Mr Clean) were done for the night.
I haven't been in anything remotely close to this since.
