funny this thread got resurrected... i had my first dream about obner not too long ago. i was visiting chicago and staying in a hostel and good ol' robotboy was showing me around town since no one else wanted to hang out. i think there were a few other obnerites in the dream too, i don't remember who else though.

the obner relation is weak, but it's still an ok dream.

i don't remember the beginning, but here's what i knew happened from before i can remember it: i had married robotboy's girlfriend (not his real girlfriend, just a girl that i see on the train sometimes). it wasn't because we were in love. we had some pact, but i didn't know what it was.

so, it was late in the day after the wedding. i was with some friends in an attic, but i left when my sister called to say that my dad was late. i walked into another room and noticed some contracts. it seemed that i married this girl because she could get a free education then. and we would split up once she'd received a degree.

then i walked down the hall and into another room where julian casablancas was sitting on the floor and playing with electric trains. we started talking about "marriage" and i asked him about his wedding night. he said, "we had this really girly sex at, like, 2am because one of her ex-boyfriends called and she was upset with him, so she wasn't really into it." (in the dream, we were good friends and he was married to regina spektor.) and then he started giving me marriage advice about the sacrifices and compromises that you need to make. then my dad walked in with a ring. he said it may have been too big (size 10, i'm only 7.5), so we went to resize it in the "csi" lab down the hall. robotboy, his girlfriend/my wife, her mother, my father, my sister, julian casablancas, and i huddled around the table and watched them resize it. and ryan wanted to kill me. that's about when i woke up.

it was a little like head on, the german/turkish film about the girl who marries only to get away from her overbearing family. the funny thing is that i am a little hesitant about relationships and extremely hesitant about even the concept of marriage because of how bad my parents' divorce was. so, yeah... that was my dream.

last night: Radcliffe and Drinky owned a record shop. It was a pretty minor scene in the dream but I thought I'd mention it nonetheless.
