i also had a brutal 5-hour flight today. i have a viral infection (phlegm, coughing, etc) and the other guy in my row had some sinus problems. his girlfriend sat between us - no idea why. and then some kid cried for what seemed like hours and i could hear it easily over my ear plugs. (fyi, don't say "my god, who is raping that baby!?" on an airplane going to latin america.) when i arrived, my mother bought like half a pharmacy, but not what i'd specifically asked for.

anyway, i just finished wrapping presents and i think i'm going to sleep. merry christmas, kids.

i'm just looking out. i may not appear to be strong but i lift large packs of beer and water and firelogs everyday i work, so my muscles are getting larger you know, and i'm not afraid to use them.

i just hope you're okay. it really makes me sad to hear something like this, but i have hope that all strong willed, and good hearted people will find true happiness. i believe that your true happiness will come in time, hopefully short time.

Egads, Col. How terrible. I've been thinking about you over the holidays and hoping you're pulling through all this. And now you find out about what she has been doing behind your back. I can't imagine how that must feel, but maybe there's some small comfort in knowing that she's the one who caused your relatinship to fracture. You're a good man, and I hope you haven't called that into question during the last month.

I'm assuming you're on winter break from classes now so take some time to wallow and sort through stuff maybe you weren't able to due to the initial shock/anger and your class load.

And try to get well enough to carouse when I come down in early February to look for an apartment. We'll get you back on track soon enough.

We went to ikea last thursday and loaded the fuck up on furniture. It's all well and good till you get home and realize that you didn't actually buy furniture, you just bought heavy boxes of pieces. I have spent the last 4 days assembling shit, and my hands hurt. If I see another wood dowel or t-nut I'm gonna explode.

You overdid it a bit, dinnit you? I did two in one day, and I was pretty proud of myself (Alleby rotating CD case). I think those guys deserve awards for design though. The thing comes with 14 shelves, two of them fixed. The first time through, I didn't even realise the fixed ones had holes pre-drilled -- they just happened to be the first two I grabbed, and I think that was per design. (First two grabbed == last two unloaded.)

Best of my knowledge, there is not an IKEA location in 'Sconsin. Though if there is, I would bet it'd be in the Kremlin's consulate in the Upper Northwest.
