ah! forgot about this one too...my friend in college roomed with this guy for a year and we used to hang out and play madden, etc.

He won some weekly awards in NFL Europe. Not in contact with him as of late though.

She's not really famous yet, but I'm guessing that my friend Brook will be semi-famous when the movie she wrote comes out late this year or early in '07 - directed by the "Lemony Snicket" director.

my ex was friends with some semi-famous people. we used to get xmas cards from kevin dubrow of quiet riot, we've eaten dinner with jon langford, lee rocker and rachael yamagata. i grew up with chicago house dj derrick carter and still see/talk to him regularly. my ex also has two cousins who are actors (both have appeared on tons of commercials and "friends") and his best friend from childhood was in "first wives club" as diane keaton's lesbian daughter as well as a bunch of other movies.

yeah, he had most of the connections...

Chad? I went to lacrosse came with him, and played him a couple times after that.

I talk to Jennifer Love Hewitt all the time.

She never responds.

Alright, it's not really Jennifer Love Hewitt, it's a big stand-up cardboard cutout of her.

Alright, it's not really a big stand-up cardboard cutout, neither, it's just me holding my hand out and in a fist and raising and lowering my thumb like its her mouth.

Not sure of his name, but the one who went on to UNC to play D1 golf. What lacrosse camp did you go to? Where'd you grow up?

An other one I have that probably won't mean much to most of you but when I was at college (the first time) I knew a young actress called Ashley Jensen.

I've not seen or spoken to her for about 13 years but I noticed she turned up recently as one of the main actors in 'Extras', Ricky Gervais follow up to 'The Office'.

If were talking playing in the NFL, I have a distant cousin Bill Lafleur who played NFL Ball and know Russ Hochstein who plays for the Patriots. He went to Nebraska and lived next door to one of my best friends as a kid. He was skinny as hell in high school, then he pumped up and ate a ton at the training table in college.
I also had Political Science classes with Matt Chatham who plays for the Patriots as well, he went to USD.

Now that is a man who I have been wanting to get into for years. His catalog is just so enormous (and some of it very difficult to find), that I have no idea where to start.

Tough to find his stuff in brick-and-mortar stores, too. That is the trick.
Anyway, that's very cool that you know him... the Granddaddy of lo-fi home recording.

My girlfriend is friends with Kelly Clarkson.

I've partied with almost every death/black metal band in Dallas/ Ft Worth circa 1996. I was in a death metal band with some friends and we got to do some shows with Prophecy who introduced us to everyone in the scene. It really wasn't that great.

I went clubbing with Darian from MTV this year.

Did I mention my girlfriend is friends with Kelly Clarkson... that's pretty huge.

OK let's see...

My wife's cousin has a 12:00 -1:00 P.M. show on the all-sports radio station in Montreal.

I went to high school and was pretty good friends with Corey Hart.

Another classmate is in the film business and is married to Harvey Keitel.

My sisters husband's sister is married to a former NHL player, who is now playing in Europe; this guy...

J Stew! Epic! Almost as good as knowing Terrence in Sierra Madre.

I go to a bulletin board for Martin Newell and he posts there regularly (in addition to having a web log) and I have had some actual banter with him and he did a "guest" posting on my web log 'Crenellation'!

Other than that, when I worked for an arts management firm in London I used to have regular contact with musicians and artists. I spoke on the telephone on a number of occassions to Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet), Simon LeBon (Duran Duran), Bill Wyman (RS), and to Elton John's partner David among others. There were times, too, when celebs came to our site for viewings to decide whether to buy something. I was upset when I found out on one Monday morning that Johnny Depp had been in to view something on the Saturday, heh.

I understand that Elliott Smith would occassionally visit the Sweet Adeline discussion group before he passed. I joined after he passed, so I didn't get to have that excitement. I'm sure other artists read and/or post on their boards (some probably do not say who they are, some do).
