I'm in. :)

And we should send a mix to everyone on the list. it wouldn't be fair for someone to send everyone a copy and only get three mixes back.

So how do we wanna post these when they're done?

I was thinking someone could start a Mix Exchange thread in the Mix Forum as soon as they have something finished. Then all the mixes would be posted in that one thread (with artwork if applicable), and we'd try to have them all in there by March 1st.

Just kinda thinking ahead. I don't think I'll have anything done for at least a week or two.

No, I think you misunderstood. These are CD mixes sent in the mail.

I'd spend the whole time trying to put stuff I think people would like, as opposed to making a mix that represents me, and therefore you'd hate it, and therefor im taking my ball and not playing.

I would imagine someone would be in charge of mailing addresses too, since I don't think we want to PM each time we need to send our address. I'll be the keeper of that if everyone trusts me, or does it already exist elsewhere?

I'm not sure everyone understood this so to clarify:

I'm suggesting we do 2 exchanges:

(A) a random draw from the whole group where people are assigned an individual to exchange mixes with. Everyone will participate in this, make one mix for one person and get a mix back in return from same exchangee.
(B) for those interested, a larger exchange amongs those people wanting to exchange with 10 or 20 or whatever the number is people. So in addition to the one exchange under A, you send out mixes to and get back mixes from however many people are participating in group B. If you exchange with someone in A whose participating in B, you don't have to do a second exchange with that person for B. I'm just making one mix in all likelihood, but with copies for everyone whose doing B and my assigned person for A.

So let's first figure out how many people want to do A only and how many want to do A&B. I'd say let's cut off the signup on Wednesday for A&B. I'll randomly assign the pairings by Friday, and folks can start exchanging addresses, etc. If enough people sign up for B, we could do a separate thread for each mix. Otherwise, if we're just doing A, we can utilize one thread as Drinky suggests.

Clear to everyone? if not, if anyone gets what I'm saying then see if you can explain it better.

I think the A&B thing might be getting a bit complicated, though. Why not just say: if you want to send to everyone on the list, send to everyone? And if you can only afford to send to one or two or three people, just do that. I would guess that out of 20 people we'd each get at least 10-15 mixes, which would be fine with me. Plus, the folks who can't afford to send a lot would still be able to participate in the review threads.

I might have to put the brakes on the full deal swap - but it'll depend on how a few things pan out in the next couple weeks.

I might send one out to everyone but I don't think people who do B should feel obligated to send one out to the A folks who don't choose to do B. Besides, I believe in the power of incentives. In order to be guaranteed of receiving 20 mixes, you should have to sign up for mailing out the same. Otherwise, we might get a bunch of free riders.

Dusty Chalk had a computer issue so I don't know that he's in. I'm not sure about loogar either. I just thought he was saying he's mailing the mix he already owes me, but maybe he's in. Aural was saying she might be in if her computer is fixed in time. I'm mailing one to her either way.

otherwise, looks right to me.

I think I'm just too much of a lazy sod to do this, though it would be fun.
