I just pulled a beautifully dark pretzel (finestkind) out of my bag of Snyder's of Hanover Minis and have ceremoniously set it aside to serve as the much-anticipated Last Pretzel of the Evening.

Let's go, man.

Baby, I'm bored.

Hit me with your best shot.

I'll give it a try, but first I need another beer.

You're treading water. I'm swimming the English Channel.

Ok, maybe swimming isn't the most apt metaphor.

If I just reply to every one of your posts, I'll be a'iiiiiight.

Keep posting twice to everything you say?

You're really testing me with this multitasking while intoxicated thing...

Drink up. There is no way I'll ever catch you.

aaaahhh....

I know.

i hung out with a girl i used to dislike passionately, tonight, and had a great time.

it felt nice.
i have a bad headache. i saw the dada exhibit at the national gallery and it was amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzing.
i also saw about 7 de koonings, no freuds unfortunately as well as no rauschenbergs, but i did see a bosch and many rembrandts and titians.
no vecchio's, which is okay.. i really wanted to see a jan van eyck but i saw some other flemish art which compensated for that sort of, though i love van eyck.
i read about 60 pages of my book, but didn't finish it.
i laid in the hirshhorn sculpture garden in the warm weather today. it was so nice.
beautiful day.

and this goes out to mice elf--- man ray

Joe, that picture only has a monkey. In order for it to qualify for the thread he's got to a least be dry humping a male robot or something.

Good Lord.

Me... goodnews...um...

Partly inspired by the recent Obner book thread....yesterday I went to a second-hand bookstore to pick up some potential reads for my trip. Ended up picking up 4. Got to the cash and the guy told me everything was half-off. Awww yeah.

I got:

+ The Sun Also Rises - Hemingway (I've read this before years ago, but figured it's pretty suitable given that it takes place in the two countries I'll be visiting.)
+ Candide - Voltaire
+ A Room of One's Own - Woolfe
+ Shosha - Isaac Bashvis Singer (Anyone ever read this? I had never heard of this one but it looks interesting; it's about jews in pre-Hitler Poland)

Part of my criteria was that the book be 1) paperback and 2) small (good for traveling).

that happened to me last night! except it was at the record store. i bought a drive-by truckers cd and the total went from 10 dollars or something to 4.99. it made me so happy.

i could have sworn i bought that hemingway book for a dollar at goodwill a few weeks ago but it turns out i didn't. i bought "to have and have not" as well as "a farewell to arms"
i'm finally almost done with my book. i really need to sit down every night and read. if i did that i'd finish books within a week rather than two or three..
