Ween.
Five Iron Frenzy.
(i was 15,mind you)
The Locust, and Dillenger Escape Plan- although they actually grew on me years after I left him..
Anything by Mike Patton. Mr.Bungle 'California' was tolerable, after a small handful of pills. However, Faith No More is where I have to put my foot down.

Worst music I've tolerated due to an attractive member of the same sex: Nelly, and his many club-rap clones.

But, yes, she was that hot.

And taking off her clothes..

:ironchef:

I dig the music on your myspace. I refuse to sign up to check out pics of you though.

So do you dig guys or girls or both?

all right, it's a race to see who quotes Blur now.

And welcome.

Are you looking to get your ass beat? You don't diss Patton around here.

And Ween rules.

Shut up, hippy.

[just kidding...(kind of)]

As for Patton- I know this, like most indie rock music boards, is a total sausage fest, but I stand my ground.
Mike Patton is not that cool,
and faith no more quite simply blows.

Prince of darkness- thanks. glad you like my music. As for the pictures, I personally think it's worth the registration, but that's only because i take all my photographs myself.
As for my preference- Yes. The answer is Yes.
If that doesn't make sense- good.

What is up with this "poetic" posting style some people have? Actually, I've been under the impression that these are all the same person. killer whaler, catswilleatyou, this one, maybe more...

Ease up on the return key.

Funny - I thought that, too. At least I'm not the only one.

Have you ever actually heard Ween? No one who's ever listened to them would ever equate the word "hippy" with Ween.

Have my clones been preceding me again?!?

No, sorry, not all the same person. Sorry to disappoint.

And I edited, but that is the best I can do. It's just a matter of style.

Whoahahha. I hear yah honey. Ween was the first band that came to mind for me.

It seems to really be a boy thing, (yes, Cemetary, I realize some girls like them too). Although I can "appreciate" their musicial skills and "creativity" I just don't get it. They make my stomach turn. But it seems they are very dear to a lot of boys who otherwise have good taste in music.

It wasn't so bad when I had to deal with "some guy I was dating" liking them, but it seems even the man of my life loves them. Uhgh.

Welcome aboard, quantum. And yeah, this board is a sausagefest, but there's also a couple of fruity boys and so-called twee-sters like me. But I still like Ween and Mike Patton. My bad taste runs the gamut from the most gentle to the most drunken. So, if you got like an Innocence Mission-Butthole Surfers collab, you can like YSI it to me or summit.

It's not really a sausagefest... not all the time at least. There are quite a lot of girlies around as well.

Besides, it' sometimes fun to play along with the sausagefest... see the "Now I'm getting pissed" thread.

Actually, it's one giant wiener and those without weiners are playing along with a mixture of amusement and teeth-gritting.

Gotta call a slab of pork what it is, polly.

Yes, yes...hence the name. I suppose you're right then.

Oh, slabs of pork. *sigh*

that's just crazy talk. mike patton's got about three or more less popular, definitely better projects out there. "anything" by mike patton sounds kind of harsh when you only list the big'uns.

as for the original question at hand, i dated a guy for years who owned two cassettes: Shake Your Moneymaker by the Black Crowes and GNR Lies by (duh) Guns and Roses. not bad albums, but after a month or so of listening to only those two, i started going a little crazy.

my ex-husband had excellent taste in music and i wouldn't have gotten into springsteen without him, so no complaints there.

i could never just "tolerate" my partner's music. i mean, make-out music, sunday afternoon music, saturday morning soundtrack, in the car tunes... it all makes a huge difference. making out to mogwai is infinitely better than making out to toby keith and if he didn't realize that... whoa. no reason to date thee.

It's DiFranco

As in "bi" with a backwards "b" for Di-sexual.

Ween haved tackled nearly every genre of music and most vocal styles and have always been very funny doing it. I guess what turns some people off is how much they like faking "dumb."

Probably seems like a caveman club to some listeners. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure I coulda tolerated polly in that alternate universe. Err...the one where I had the option to tolerate, of course.
