I always thought Weight Watchers was for women, but I guess in this case it'd make sense.

I've been using the on-line version of WW for 8 weeks and have lost 24lbs. My wife has lost 17lbs (she didn't have nearly as much to lose as I did to begin). It's very effective OPA, and not nearly as hard as you'd imagine---good luck.

Make sure you have a good "before" picture. I've pretty much found that to be all the motivation I'll need. It's mind blowing.

I know. I would never go to the gym looking like this. I'd never get laid again. I have to trap them before taking off my clothes. But once I got them by the balls, it's a done deal.

Geesssh, now I'm gonna have nightmares. Thanks alot Chris

I don't know anything about the program yet. I'm scheduled to meet with a WW rep on Wednesday of next week.

How many points do they usually recommend?

I would start by cutting down on your "salt" intake.

Be careful... my best friend from high school used to say that all the time. She'd brag as she was downing milkshakes and hot dogs and butter and salt drenched popcorn. She maintained her perfect 125#, 5'9" body all through college. Then one day, poof, metabolism was gone. She's a whopping 200# now.

(I'm sure that just typing about milkshakes and hot dogs just added five pounds to my ass)

Yeah, I used to be able to lose 30lbs easy by eating a little lesss and excercising a little more.

Now I'm in my thirties it's a slow, slow grind even to lose 5lbs.

So far what everyone knows and has mentioned is spot on. Make sure you get your water, etc...

A good tip, especially if exercise is involved, is to not follow the point system too strictly. That way you don't feel too constricted. Often I don't count condiments. Not even salad dressing (as long as it's at least a light dressing, some of the normal dressings are killer - but you all ready knew that). I don't count any vegetables I eat, but I do count fruit as it's more sugary.

Umm... I've been doing this for so long now it's second nature, so I'm sure I'll think of more as the days go on.

It is the best way I've ever come across and something that really sticks. I've plateaued, but I've never gained weight back and I've kinda, sorta, maybe lost a person through the whole process.

So just finished my first WW meeting. I got a star just for being my witty self (really, it was for being a fat ass). Anyway, I get to eat 26 points worth of food every day. Yay. And apparently, I get 35 extra points per week, so it comes out to 33 points per day. Hopefully, this works. :)
