whatever

I don't care too much about what players have done in the past. I am playing in the now.

Plus I like to keep the league interesting.

you could make a cse that Burgos is better than

M Gonzalez
Huston Street (injury of course)
j Borowski

and has similar stats to

J Nathan and C Cordero

not to mention Guardado and F Cordero now set up guys.

I'll make you another offer but let me get suggestions from everyone in the league to make it fair and then we can all vote on this best combo for both our teams.

How's that?

Well that's just silly. That's why the veto power is there. Just go about your business and make trades with people and if they're not obviously lopsided, they will probably go through.

But I agree, nacho needs to change the rule and make it that 2/3 of the league must veto a trade. Not 1/3, that's just silly.

Fine, I'll give you Borowski (who is on my team, btw. any takers?). I'd rather have Gonzalez b/c MacDougal could take the closer's role back from Burgos when he is healthy. So, Burgos is the worst closer not in the state of Florida. Happy?

And I know you're not dumb enough to trade Nathan or Cordero for Burgos, so don't try spinning that here...

I think Pitt is a slightly better team. Gonzalez is in the NL, which favors pitchers. And Gonzalez has a ton of talent, moreso than Burgos. Burgos supposedly has some talent, but is barely 22 and hardly spent any time in the minors, so he's still developing at the ML level.

he's team is slightly better but not by much and his k/9 is lower and his whip is higher.

Despite the current controversy, i wanted to say this has been a really good league so far. So, thanks to everybody. We've already had a few trades, and everyone seems to be keeping up with their teams for the most part. It looks like we'll have a good league this year.

But, OPA, 40 moves already??? Damn. You're lucky I commished and didn't put in your usual 40-move cap....

Yeah, I wasn't able to make it to the live draft and wasn't too happy with my draft picks so it's taken me quite a while to find a line up that works for me. I think I'm doing much better now. My first winning week so hopefully that continues.

i wouldn't call it a controversy when i'm the only one upset by it.

i think we need more banter to make the league fun

I didn't notice that. No wonder he killed me last week.

I just picked up Tyler Walker off waivers when I was going to make a point that there are decent relievers left. Two saves in the past three games. Don't know if he'll keep the job but he's more likely to get a save than Rodney this week.

Yeah, I agree on the banter. I made a small attempt by making fun of OPA picking up Scott Proctor, but stopped b/c I thought I might come off sounding like a dick.

What with his era of 12+...whip is 2.25......i hope that works out for you. Rodney got a save last week oh and his era is zero and whip is .62.

Also, thank you to OPA for dropping Kevin Mench. It took him a few games after I picked him up (not even on waivers, no less...) before he hit HRs in 9 consecutive games.

I admit, I prematurely released him but the fucker didn't do anything for me when I had him. I don't see him having a killer season. I replaced him with Craig Wilson who should do just as well.

Due mainly to one outing. Not saying he's a great pitcher but if he gets a couple of saves here and there, he'll be doing his job for me.

He only got a save chance because Jones had pitched three straight days. Not saying he won't get more or that he's pitching well, just that he's not the closer.

Which one outing:

was it the first, second or third time he blew a save by giving up 4 earned runs in an inning.

or maybe it was the tie game he ended up lossing with 2 er's.

I just checked, I can't change it. And at the beginning of the season, the only option I had was "league votes" or "commish decides." I didn't know it was a 1/3 vote.

Changing rules after the season has started = death of any league, no matter what the sport...
