Joe Pisapia - Daydreams

Being a huge Guster fan, I've needed a YSI of this for the longest time.

If you, or anyone, can hook me up, I'd be much obliged.

Not to single you out alongwaltz, but I've seen you request this multiple times and I don't understand why you just don't buy it. While I'm sure its probably not available through your local store, buy it online. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding it.

I've YSI'ed this for a lot of people already over the years and don't really feel right about doing it anymore, especially for someone who knows they want it and has wanted it for "the longest time" At some point, you hope your pimping of something leads to some sales for the guy and not just more ysi requests.

What does it take to make people buy something these days.

And cap'n, have POD play it for you on the drive east. It is pretty great.

I guess he's full time in guster now which keeps him from doing much solo work. He did put out an album of duets with Liz Hopper under the moniker "Watercolor". I like it if I'm in the right mood for it. Their harmonizing can be gorgeous, but parts of it sound a bit cheesy for me. Without even hearing the Matthew Sweet/Susanna Hoffs collab, I'm guessing it's better than that though and would appeal to people who dig that.

I sent it POD's and mcaputo's way. Maybe they've got some opinions?

Of course, he also started in Joe, Marc's Brother which is a decent powerpop band with a few albums out. I have one album which I like but I'm not a huge powerpop fan and don't have strong enough feelings to really pimp it too much.

Well, aside from having absolutely no money to my name, I've only heard one track off it. And I'm only willing to buy albums after hearing at least three tracks off it I like. There's just too much music out there and not enough money in here to risk buying something on the hopes that it's good, when there's countless other albums that I could buy, knowing that they're definitely worth my money.

That said, if I hear three tracks off it that I like, I add it to my shopping list and keep an eye out for it in stores or see if I can find it cheap on eBay for the next time I'm employed and can afford to buy cd's.

Listening to another brilliant Obner/CMJ find right now:
Webb Brothers - Maroon
Just fucking brilliant.
Thanks, Mojo!
