That's more of a boast than a complaint.

And congrats.

I'm supposed to have a purchase order for air filters on my boss's desk by tomorrow morning. His son and one of my co-workers was supposed to have checked to see how many we needed and give me the info. He is dragging his feet and most likely lost the sheet with the info, since he keeps avoiding it.
We have a new ADP time clock system that is a Digital hand scanner and I had a software package added to my computer so that I can make schedules for our employees that work with this system. Supposedly this system might also monitor our internet usage and block some sites. I don't know what I will do when I actually have nothing to do and am being paid to watch the building during Roller Derby practice.

I can't complain too much - had a nice weekend, called in sick yesterday, 06/06/06 cookout tonight, bought an Xbox 360 over the weekend (Call of Duty 2 is awesome fyi).

It'd be nice to see the new girl sooner than the 17th though.

Damn, I just checked the voice mail, and the kid who replaced me in Liquid Soul wants to know if i can sub for him on Friday for a gig. $125.

I'm conflicted for obvious reasons, but besides those...

1. One of my little brothers is graduating from seminary on Saturday, but he doesn't care if i come to see him walk. He DOES want me to come see him play drums in a church service that night in Rockford (about an hour and a half from Chicago where the gig is). Service is at 7 for I don't know how long, gig is... i don't know when and won't till I call. I'm proud of him, he's a badass drummer, I bought him his first kit (tama starclassic birch, for the drummers in the audience).

2. I don't have a truck to get to Rockford or to get to the gig because the fuel pump which i just replaced in January went out. Hopefully it's under warranty. The tow to the shop where it might be under warranty was $200. The last time I replaced the pump it was $540. Can't be a musician without a way to get to a gig. $125 for playing that night almost covers that exorbitant tow fee.

Well, weigh in.

My first inclination. But that fuel pump...

Yeah, that's true. Ideally it would be a perfect 'fuck off', but you need cash, love to play music, so maybe the easier thing to do would be just do the gig and forget the past history. But then you've got the family thing, so see if that conflicts with the gig first, and then weight options again.

my boss was being a cockface again today but while he was yelling at me i just said "whatever..." and turned around, put my headphones on and continued working.

also, i had a confrontation with the guy at my office that's really annoying and does the three stooges noises. he was being loud, as usual, about something and i yelled out "laugh it up, retard". so he came down to where i was working and said "why are you calling me a retard?" and i just turned around, rolled my eyes at him and turned back around. then he asked "what'd i ever do to you?" and i go, "you're just annoying" and he paused for a minute and then said "WELL GO FUCK YOURSELF!". then i laughed.

Dammit, PoD, play the gig and help make that band sound better than they ever will again. And make it so they KNOW it. And then never play another gig with them ever.

I can dig that. And I just got off the phone with the mechanic, who thinks it isn't the fuel pump, so so much for saving some dough with that warranty...

Thanks for the solid advice.

i am superbitch today.

- i spent 12 hours off-site yesterday for a conference which should've been attended by another department. not only did the conference have absolutely nothing to do with my job, i couldn't answer anyone's questions because it's not my f'ing department!

- i dropped off the rental car this morning and received two urgent calls from a coworker because a book order needed to be shipped. i was five minutes from the office and it was 10 minutes before i was scheduled to come in.

- the $899 that i overpaid in property taxes two years ago *might* not be mine after all according to the assistant of my attorney. so why the f*ck did i pay $899 over back then? whyohwhyohwhy?

- i'm tired of not having sex when i want to.

- neutral milk hotel has played schubas a bunch of times and i only recently heard his/their music for the first time. why does that happen??

- my hairdresser suddenly doesn't work on wednesday nights.

- my mom is losing her mind and talking to her gets more and more difficult with every call. she doesn't remember anything and i don't know if it's because she drinks a lot (since i don't live at home anymore, i can't monitor it), she's busy or she just doesn't pay attention. or worse. i hope that it's not worse.

- i can't find anything at work today.

- i want a dog.

today is one of those days where it is easy (and stupid) to forget how good i actually have it... parents who are nuts but shower me with unconditional love, affordable housing, compatible roommate, good health, lots of wonderful, amazing friends from all walks of life, a job that i love 99% of the time, and lots of fun toys.

crabass.

If I didn't have a meeting at 3:30 today, I probably would have left at noon. One of the supervisors that has been on medical leave for the last couple months was suppose to return to work today, despite the fact that he is still wearing a massive back brace.
Since he cannot handle doing and supervising normal maintenance and operations duties, he's been directed by our general manager to handle some of my duties, so I have no idea what I will be doing now.
The thing that really pisses me off is that I got this position because he is a functionally illiterate ex-con who has no idea how to run a computer and doesn't have the patience to do office work. When they promoted him to supervisor due to his loyalty and length of service with the company as a maintenance man, they knew they needed an educated person to handle the business aspects of the job.
So now I'm going to have to try to teach this guy to do my job and I don't get any extra pay for training him and will probably be fucked over for it in the end.

oh man i've been needing to vent. it's been one fucking hell of a week and i'm miserable.

let's see... i started off my week with somehow getting into a fight with one of my best friends without even saying a word! i could just tell he was pissed off at me when he dropped me off on sunday. and i talk to him everyday but i don't know wtf i did and now he's not talking to me.

then monday morning, my boss tells me "if this fucks up and i go down, you're going down with me." wow... nice way to start off my week on monday at 10am.

i then go home monday afternoon after the gazillion meetings we have due to the fact i couldn't breathe.

so i'm sick. being sick in the summer sucks. i can't call in sick to work because i have deadlines... and every day this week i've been telling myself that it was a good thing i didn't call in otherwise i'd be fucked. but really i should be at home recovering.

allergies are kicking in like madd crazy. my roommates have a cat and i'm allergic to cats. they don't clean up after her and i'm sorry but i hate cats and somehow wind up feeding her and taking care of her because she's just a kitten.

i really miss living by myself. fuck having roommates.

not having a car is really starting to get to me. and being financially strapped with the recent moving expenses and having your car break down. ugh.

another 2 of my best friends are fighting and as much as i tell them leave me out of it, they don't listen and somehow drag me in the middle of their bullshit.

and as far as dating goes, i hate the beginning stages. it really sucks. i don't like playing games, but somehow it's a game in the beginning. and i'm retarded because the minute i meet someone really awesome who is genuinely nice & has his shit together, i freak out because i feel it's too good to be true and end up fucking it up.

there. i'm done complaining (for now). ugggggggggggh.
