The Strokes, apart from the first few songs

*waits for the hate to inevitably come my way from Loogar/Yail/etc*

Flaming Lips

I actually quite like (tho don't love) the YYYs. Only recently got the Cat Power after thinking that it probably would be a disappointment, but haven't listened enough to form a reliable opinion.

Neko is among my favorites this year, despite my general aversion to anything remotely country/Americana

How can anyone be dissapointed in a new Paul Simon record? Has he done anything in recent memory to make you think it wouldn't be crap?

Well, he was bangin' that chick from Edie Brickell, so...no, he hasn't.

I was appalled when I first played Television Personalities' "My Dark Places". It took a good three days to listen to it all, as I could only bear a few minutes at a time.

Here is a record from an artist I had thought could do no wrong. I put their debut on my Listmania, and in hindsight would have replaced it with "Closer To God". Treacy's penned and created some of the best introverted pop around. This new record, though, is inexcusably bad.
