I'm going to take everyone's top 10 and make an aggregate top 20 tomorrow.

Not trying to be a dick or speak for everyone but I don't think that would really add anything so I'd save yourself the time and effort. To me at least, the individual lists are more interesting than the cumulative rankings and if we want to see cumulative favorites we already have the threads from last year.

Thanks Billyg, I appreciate you making the samplers for us. I'm downloading them now.

Haven't had time to sit down and think about this, but did want to say that I heard Bonnie Raitt's self-titled from 71 and was blown away by it. Will be on my buying list for sure.

Something I just got from 1971, but that I haven't listened to enough to put on my list:

Amon Düül II - Tanz der Lemminge

Pretty awesome psychedelic krautrock record, and I don't think I've seen it mentioned here yet. Doesn't matter much though since I'm not putting it in my top 10, and I doubt anyone else will. Definitely worth checking out for people into early space rock, heavier psyche-prog stuff like Hawkwind (but better, I think) and maybe early Soft Machine. This album and Yeti are both great, and I'll be picking up their first album Phallus Dei eventually.

I'm bummed that Nilsson didn't make the cut.
