Our last name is unique in the USA, related only to my immediate family. Beyond the states it is rare except for a small town in Italy and dots in France and Spain, and I think Czechoslovakia. Italian professors I have met reject the name as literal Italian derivative, but figure it more Gallic or French; suggesting after the invasion and then demise some Gauls bearing a similar last name settled in that small farm town of Montescaglioso, my grandfather's birthplace.

The way my last name is spelled, and my mom's maiden are pronounced are both unique.

last is pronounced like s'plates' tribe

mom's maiden is a town in Sicily

Iam at least 50% German
50% Scotch/Irish/English Blend? (still a bit of a mystery)

Pretty much WASP (so yes, I f*** like a beast)--English, Scots, Irish--with a soupçon of Pennsylvania Dutch (which explains the Lebanon bologna sandwiches).

I just wanted to use the ç.

FT = (in order from highest percentage to lowest) German, Czech, Yugoslav, Swiss, British, Irish

Mrs. FT = Mexican

The FT Progeny = NATO (but the Census and the eventual college applications will definitely state "Hispanic")
