Duke hurt me a bit, but I'll be damned if I wasn't rooting for the Rams and their unity chain. Fuck Rat Face! Maynor is the fucking truth... doubled his effort against GMU.

I'm off to the UC today to watch Kansas in action. If anyone can lose to a 16, it's Self. I'm also interested to see if Texas A&M-CC is as good as I think they are. I like them to give Wisky a battle the entire 40. Then the nightcap is UK/Nova. Tubby coaching for his LIFE!

I have a choice of four games to check out tonight. Would you recommend any these games to check out and which guys should i pay special attention to?

Live Winthrop vs Notre Dame - First Round - NCAA Tournament
9.00pm
Live Miami (OH) vs Oregon - First Round - NCAA Tournament
11.00pm
Live Purdue vs Arizona - First Round - NCAA Tournament
1.30am
Live Villanova vs Kentucky - First Round - NCAA Tournament
I'm probably not going to be happy with any of these games (I've got winthrop, oregon, purdue and villanova), but Chase Budinger from AZ is an interesting white guy who can jump. And I forget who the leader of Oregon is but he can ball a lil' bit.

Can't recommend individual players, but of those four I'd probably watch the ND/Winthrop game (I've got ND, but it was a tough call) as I expect the winner to beat the Oregon/Miami winner in the Sweet.

Also have Oregon, Purdue, and 'Nova

10/16 yesterday. Not my best day but I picked some upsets. My entire Sweet 16 is still intact.

Even though I picked Duke I have never not minded losing a pick more in my life. That game and the Xavier games were the only close ones all damn day I think.

Has anyone noticed that:

Clark Kellog = WORTHLESS

Anybody catch that exchange right after VCU beat Duke. They were talking about the game and Seth Davis went on some breakdown about VCU and why they did it. Cut to Clark Kellog: "They got it done". Then some awkward laughter by Greg Gumbel and Seth Davis as if to say "why the fuck are you even here?"

Seriously. Has he ever done Tourney coverage before?

That was a fun bar to be in last night when VCU won. I just realized that it might have been the biggest game in richmond sports history, as there's not much there to compete with.

Ha, yea. Simmons was ragging on him big time in his running diary. Kellog has been doing tournament coverage for a few years now, but maybe he was drunk.

I watched a few VCU games and a lot of duke games and I still thought that there was a decent chance that the zebras would give mcroberts carte blanche down low against our non-existent post play.

i really had a hard time with this one. but in the end, i thought if you give coach k 4-5 days to prepare for one opponent, he'd get the job done.

Duke isn't DUKE this year, but this was also the first time they lost in the first round since 1996. Given that string plus something like nine straight Sweet Sixteens, it was a safer bet to go ahead and pick Duke rather than guess on an upset.

That said, I didn't have Duke getting into the Sweet Sixteen, just winning against VCU.

I had em losing in the 2nd round too.

Also, thrillhouse, with about 5-6 games left in the season some people were talking about them not even making the tourney. They didn't deserve a 6 seed. This was more like an 8/9 seed matchup if you ask me.

I almost went with VCU but for all the reasons Fu listed, I went with the safest bet.

That plus even though it was a down year for them, they finished the season ranked in both polls and was in the top 15 in RPI. To predict a victory for a team with those numbers over an 11 seed is far from unreasonable.

Yeah but they were ranked based on name alone. They weren't the 7th best team in their conference and shouldn't have made the tournament.

Fair point about ranking based on name. Based on conference records, though, they were tied for sixth and only three games out from the lead. Their biggest conference blemish was not beating anybody above them except BC. They also beat four tournament teams in their non-conference schedule, including Georgetown. Tournament? yes. 6 seed was probably high based on record, but I still don't see how the 11-seed upset is an automatic gimme.

i looked at them and saw (the devil and) a 6th place team that was falling and ended the season with what, 3 or 4 straight losses? I just don't see how they get in and Syracuse and Kansas state get bumped other than pure name recognition, although maybe that gtown game was enough.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the biggest travesty is, them getting a 6th seed or Stanford playing in the tournament. I think that Duke's RPI was pretty good, and probably worthy of playing in the Dance, but they are nowhere near as good as Syracuse. I have trouble lobbying for K-State, because while they had a stellar year under Huggins, Nebraska smoked them once and that should almost disqualify you from the dance.

Do you give a shit about the actual tournament, or is your sole purpose to piss and moan about the teams that everyone has already forgotten about because they didn't make the field.
