not sure how this boring and pointless thread reflects on anyone's life. someone could start a thread on what brand of saltines is best and we could argue it. doesnt mean i'm not eating those saltines out of a hooker's nether regions.

Also there's a substantial variety of saltines in this big world.

My wife likes to sit side by side. I don't mind, but unless she says something, I usually sit across from her. Depends on the restaurant, size of the table, etc. It's good to vary it up some.

I voted option 1, anyway.

yeah ditto. I don't much care either way, to be honest. Maybe I used to care, I don't remember. But it doesn't strike me as bizarre or comment-worthy if a couple doesn't wanna talk across a table at each other. Plus she gets cold when she eats, so usually she'll lean up against me a little.

Sometimes we do, sometimes not. I voted first option.

Personally, I don't see how romance in a relationship cuts off any testicles. Quite the opposite, really. But again, not surprising that most little boys here wouldn't quite get that.

You say this, and yet this seems to be determined by what the wife/gf prefers.

I guess you'd refuse if she wanted you to sit by her? Oh, that's ballsy.

Rod still has his testicles, it's just that they're carried in his wife's purse.

See, where I'm from, we don't have "chain restaurants" with "booths" like you guys with your fancy real-life sitcoms.

So, that considered, call me old-fashioned, but I don't talk when I don't have something important to say, intimidate, and pay. And while I ain't married, no girl i would ever take out is sitting side by side.

Majority of the time it's across from, but every once in a while we'll do side-by-side.

Wanted to re-word that, but I'm basically getting a little tired of your nuggets of wisdom you've been so generous with lately.

Personally, I liked the original wording.

But all the same, go fuck yourself.

if we are assuming this is a "nice" restaurant:

table for two - sit directly across

perfectly square table (four chairs) - sit around the same corner and not across.

Try an experiment Mick. Try to go a full day of posting without "enlightening" americans on the errors of their ways.

Beat me to the post, Squirrgle. But mine would have something more of "illuminating Americans on the sweeping generalizations about Americans that exist in the world."

Feel free to challenge me to a ten round bout with a kangaroo.

My sweeping generalisations are in jest, but i guess you don't grasp that if there isn't a punchline.

Oh there's another one.

Experiment #2: Try finding a new jest.

I think you've explored all the territory in this one pretty well.
