I rarely have issues with ticket prices. There have been a few I have passed on due to the price, but they weren't absolutely ridiculous like what they were charging for the Dane Cook tickets in Omaha.
I'm way more apt to go see a band play a small venue for half the cost or the cost of their CD, than I am to actually buy that CD at retail cost.

Average price for a small, indie type international band's show here is forty, fifty dollars, anywhere up to a hundred. It's just stupid.

chase, stop being a puss and show your face at a show sometime.

come see radio moscow in august. they will melt your mind. so amazing.

also, graveyard from sweden is coming back. two shows i think you may be into that won't break the bank and will have an attendance of under 100 people.

the last time I went to Nara for a show, I felt REALLY awkward in my oldness. plus, i can tell you right now that I'm not going to a weekday show probably ever again. it's very kind of you to think of me though.

you shouldn't feel awkward. a lot of old people go there. what are you, 30 or something? that's not old at all. plenty of people come out on a regular basis that are that old/much older. i understand about the weeknight show thing, it kind of sucks because i feel like that has a lot to do with poor attendance.. that and it's summer in a city full broke alcoholics.
the shows do start late, there, but that has everything to do with how late the crowd shows up. the place is ready to go by around 9:30 usually, but everyone loves to show up as late as possible to shows.

if you don't have anything to do next friday, you should come celebrate my birthday with me. us christmas, valkyrie, the young sinclairs, and a local band inter arma are playing. It's not at nara.. it's at that pool bar on broad street, the triple.

it's going to be a great show.

also, i was joking about the puss comment. i had to work at 7am today after working a show until 2 am last night. i'm really tired. i don't know how some of the people who have to work every morning come out to shows so often.

it's awesome. the bands get a shitload of free sushi (vegan and fish)
the capacity is low, but it works out. nachtmystium played there and claimed they loved it and want to come back and play at the same place again, despite low capacity and everything.
a lot of awesome bands have come through. obits, some teepee records bands, relapse bands. they pretty much have shows every night of the week, give or take one or two days every now and then. the restaurant stops making sushi for customers around 9/9:30 and then we start setting up for shows.
it works out pretty well.

My friend, who's favorite album is Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet, loves Radio Moscow. It was recommended to him by itunes. Ha ha.

it's pretty awesome that he got into such a great band.

also, slippery when wet is the best bon jovi album, and the only one that is acceptable to listen to. who wouldn't party to "you give love a bad name" or "livin on a prayer" or "wanted dead or alive"?

your friend sounds great.

have you heard radio moscow? if not, don't dismiss them because a jovi lover likes them. they are fucking great.
