Holy shit, Kingfish straight-up sent me a Lousiana care package.

That mustard is good, too! We made fish and chips from scratch with fresh cod and I dipped everything in it.

WOO HOO!

I gotta give it up for Tiger Sauce, too:

The heat quotient is fairly low, but it's got a lot of flavor, with a bit of sweetness to it. It's been a while since I've had it, but I used to love it on eggs, and in some cream-based soups.

Creole Mustard is one of my favorite simple pleasures. I'm glad it made it there unbroken.

Yeah everything was intact. The wife had some of that mustard on a sandwich yesterday and enjoyed it as well.

I just used some Zatarains Shrimp and Crab Boil concentrate to make some cajun boiled peanuts last weekend.

Great stuff.

Nice shipment up there.

And its all available at any grocery store here for the same...its funny to me that there are parts of the country that don't have such simple pleasures.

We've got really good seafood access here, and a lot of wierd Irish food products, but the selection of stuff like good sauces is paltry at best. It's like the british left their love of bland, boiled food behind.

I think about how I used to be totally cool with Aunt Jamima once, and I shudder.

It's thick and disgusting and people put it on cold.

edit: even some restaurants in New England give you real, but un-warmed syrup and that's not okay.

I like how the ingredients are corn syrup and corn syrup. When it's all you ever eaten, then it's not that bad. But once you taste real maple syrup, there's no turning back. It's kind of like DVR.

The only drawback is that its roughly 1000x more expensive.

it's the difference between enjoying a great meal on special mornings or never eating that meal again.

Aren't you talking about pancakes, waffles, and french toast? Seems like the wrong sorta thing to start getting snobbish about.

yeah, no way.

Good pancake batter from scratch with almonds and a tiny bit of cinnamon in it, eggs over well, top-shelf bacon on the side, plus homemade hashbrowns with jalapenos and onions in them, covered in Crystal hot sauce... done up right, sunday morning is some of the most work / best reward we get out of the kitchen all week. The thought of dumping liquid corn all over it... fucking no way.
