Wait, how can you cheer for both the Pens and the Caps?

yeah. Great game. I was such a mixed bag of emotions watching that game. I was up, then sooo depressed, slumped over in my chair, swearing I was done with the Canucks and picking a new team to cheer for next year, then back up, sitting on the edge of my seat screaming at the top of my lungs at my tv.

Thank god they won. I hope this lights a fire under their collective asses for next game.

YEAH!!!! GO NUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew that game was coming sometime. Good timing too. Compared to how I felt about the series and my team when we were down 2-1, to how I feel now that we are UP 3-2... :rawk: :rawk:!!!!

Just need a repeat of last night on sunday!

It seemed like they were back to the way they performed all season. Like a well oiled machine. When they play like that, they are hard to beat. Lu played well too. It definitely restored my faith in my team as a cup contender.

As Rads and I already discussed, LA is going to be vicious on Sunday night, and I would imagine, unrelenting. Canucks just need to rally and stay consistent.

Unfortunately, the game wasn't broadcast here in Portland (I could have paid for it) and I wasn't able to stream online at cbc.ca (didn't allow viewing outside of Canada). So now, on the NHL network, they are re-broadcasting it and I'm seeing it myself.

Goddamned 'Nucks are so Jekyll and Hyde, which I guess is okay as long as they go Hyde four times for every three Jekylls.

Just watched Nashville completely self-destruct in the last minute. Wow. Martin Erat needs to be put up against a wall and executed.

Also, CBC is using the Hold Steady's "Stay Positive" in their lead-in to Hockey Night in Canada.

That must have sucked for Gretzky and his plasticized wife to see the Kings lose the first round of playoffs on home ice.

Yeah, did you see what Gretzky had in front of him when they showed him up in his booth at the game... a cup full of smarties, a sprite, and a big slice of chocolate cake. Looks like the great one likes his junk food.

As for the game. Awesome. Would have been nice to take the series at home in Van, but coming back from the kings 2-1 series lead to win 3 straight was great.

Now to see if we get to have our revenge on the Blackhawks...

eh, Gretzsky's earned it, and it's not like he's pushing maximum density or anything. The game itself was a little lackluster (I slept through the final bits of it), so I didn't think it was that exciting of a game, and I didn't think the Canucks played that great overall. Maybe more luck than anything else.

I dunno, Luongo made some SICK saves. I didn't think Vancouver played very well in the 1st, but they really picked it up in the 2nd and then poured it on in the 3rd. The fact that it was an elimination game might have made it all that much more exciting though.

Jesus, I want Chicago out of the playoffs so I don't have to hear another note of that fucking Fratellis song.

Also, major choke going on with Washington.

really though? halak with 53 real saves, and some relatively inspired play from montreal. after 9 years here, my blood is still sadly toronto blue, but the habs earned the win, and this series would now be over had they not choked in game 2.

I put most of the blame on Boudreau and his less than conspicuous arrogance. He thinks he doesn't need to change his game plan in the playoffs. Newsflash, most teams take the time to increase their dedication to solid defensive play while maintaining a strong connection to their offensive game. Instead WSHs D (both from D men and Forwards) prance around the offensive zone with flashy moves, half of which get broken up by dedicated defensive corps, and the other half of which miss high or wide.

Knuble is the only one on that team that gets it, IMO. Maybe Laich (but they're similar players anyway, again IMO).

Because I am rooting for Boston, I now hope that MTL wins game 7 so I can at least see the B's in the ECF (they at least have a better chance against PHI than PIT).

WSH is choking hard, just like they do every playoffs in the past 3 years because they're too arrogant to not over-fancy up their game. That's why Varly gets left with a 2 goal deficit 5 minutes into a game 6. Despicable.
