Those of you who are into Southern food, both eating and cooking it, I'd highly suggest you pick up this new Southern Foodways Alliance cookbook:

He will, too. I had to hang all that shit higher up the tree this year, and even cut a few lo branches back.

We went big this year. Size matters.

We're still rocking a mini-table top artificial tree for fear of the pull down. I think next year we'll go big real tree because the girls are understanding more and more each day.

My wife bought a box of unbreakable round ornaments and put them and some like, plastic snowflakes we had, on the lower branches. So far so good though she did grab one of them yesterday, yell "ball" and throw it at me during the Falcons game. I told her that her boyfriend Matt Ryan wouldn't like that and put it back on the tree. Next.

Oddly ours did fall down on Day 2, but it happened when nobody was home... so I tied it to the guitar hooks behind it on the wall with two discrete white strings just in case.

Discreet.

Also, chad... you're not asking for the books on tape version of that bob spitz book, are you?

I can't condone that.

Gonna probably go with the fake table-top tree this year. Not really wanting to do anything, and probably won't get around to putting anything up until the week prior.

This has little to do with me worrying about a tree, and much more about me hating Christmas, decorating, holidays in general, and anything that smacks of work. Blech.

I've just asked for a bunch of DVD's and books.

The Trip starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, Rick Stein cooking/travel series (Far Eastern Odyssey & his French Odyssey). Fuck A Fish Vol 21.

Books, The Pleasures Of The Damned - Bukowski, On The Brink - Paulson, The Pillars of Hercules: A Grand Tour of the Mediterranean - Theroux.

I've got both nephews Ty Segall & The Fresh & Onlys Cd's. I have no idea about the rest of the family, I'm the only one who always has a list.

Just tell the maid that its part of her job to buy the tree and decorate it and dispose of it after the holidays.

Can't relate to all those folks who can't come up with anything that they want. I've got a long list of things I could use.

My daughter just left the FAO Schwarz store with her own muppet, and from the looks of the videos that they're sending to dear old dad back at the salt mine, these things are worth a hundred bucks if you want to upgrade her doll collection somethin' fierce:

Whoops! No sir. If I wanted to passively learn every detail of The Beatles I'd just haul a case of Lonestar to your house and let you go on a ramble. Matter of fact, I may still do that. How's your Sunday look?

A bunch of years back, my sis didn't know what to get me so she went to the book store and asked for the weirdest fiction they had. They handed her Bukowski. That was a good Christmas.

Why are all the items in there twice?
The preview renderings could be a little better.

I just bought THE FUH outta some presents. And, aside from business associates, I'm pretty much donezo.

After some extenuating circumstances caused us to bail on our trip to Charleston (to see FemDerris' Sis's new babgy) at the last minute last weekend, it felt like we got a sudden gift of time. We decided to start knocking out some shopping and we got enough done that it's now our goal to be completely done by the end of this weekend. I have a trip to Sears, a trip to Belk, a trip to Border's, and a trip to a Mexican restaurant for gift cert and we'll be fucking DONE.

I've never been done this early..........EVER.

Pretty awesome.
