I thought Rapelessburger was gonna pull a Cuntler.
But in a way, he still did.

Apparently you aren't familiar with the Bengals, but some of our bad seeds aren't in the NFL anymore.

Yeah. Still not real familiar in regards to the Bengals but I'll take your word for it.

Horribly played game by the Packers.
But we Winned!

Hell yeah.......all the nerves were worth it....plus the local packer bar in Boise had me put on Lil Wayne's "green & yellow" on their speaker system after the win........after they got the polka out of the way.

Good game (not great, despite the score...sorta reminded me of one of those BCS games where both teams looked a little rusty), but I definitely think the better team prevailed.

Congrats to the Packobners!

the nfl has definitely gotten what they wanted in terms of league parity, but if you ask me it has taken the seltzer out of the big game. give me 2 dominant teams facing off or a david v goliath matchup any day. sure it was a close game, but neither of those teams impressed me.

and while i am on the subject of unimpressed, how does polamalu win defensive player of the year? i saw 3 steelers games this year (afc championship, sb, and v pats) and i never saw the guy in position. he's like brandon meriweather, the least deserving pro bowl selection ever, just gambling and really not guessing well that often. i am supposed to think it's awesome that he is playing on instinct i guess, but the guy is not making plays.

I didn't. Crazy how many guys from the area are playing in the NFL right now.

Essentially did any NFL team impress you this year or do you just think these two teams were unimpressive?

It did seem like any awful lot of the rationale for his selection as defensive player of the year had to do with the Steelers record without him and the Flacco play. I thought he was a fair choice but i like how he didn't do anything in the SB while Clay made a few huge plays.

as a steelers fan, i am disappointed with the loss and the game that some key players had last night, but i have difficulty disliking rodgers and felt pretty glad that he got some of that favre monkey off of his back.

and just imagine how huge his game would have been if Nelson, Jones and Swain didn't have all those drops.

Just picked this up today.

nelson had the worst 9 reception, 140 yard, 1 TD game i can recall ever seeing. not that it matters much...

true, BUT if mendenhall doesn't fumble, steelers probably end up winning

Neither team played great games, I'll give you that...but, I can't comprehend how Rodgers was not impressive. Mendenhal impressed me too. Aside from an outstanding play by Matthews forcing that fumble...dude had a great game. You just sound like a bitter fan whose team wasn't good enough to get to the super bowl can't accept that any other team is good.

If some of those balls are caught by Jones and Nelson, Rodgers number look ridiculous....something like 30-39 with over 400 yards and 4 TD's.

i am not saying that neither team has good players. they both have a couple guys on both sides of the ball who i would love to have in new england. i'm just saying that the league feels more like a lottery it ever has. any of the playoff teams (save for the seahawks maybe) had about as good a chance as any other at winning this thing. that makes for an exciting tournament because there are no sure things, but the conclusion strikes me as unsatisfying because the trophy seems to just get passed from team to team. there's no sense that there's a new sheriff in town because to win you have to go through some dominant team. most sports are still that way and i think it's a shame the nfl isn't.

as a pats fan, i have taken great pleasure in the fact that the pats got 3, including 2 in a row in this era because the league is pretty much set up to discourage continued excellence. have to tip the cap to the steelers and to a lesser extent the colts in this regard too. but when i read an aaron rodgers quote that says 'let's get another one,' i am looking at that and thinking it's like hitting a big scratch ticket and saying 'i am going to buy another one of those!'

i wouldn't say that i am bitter my team didn't win. i think they threw away a great opportunity, but i am also pretty pleased with their situation in the draft and with a young team that outperformed expectations. they gave me 14 happy sundays, how can i complain. but to watch the semifinals feature 4 teams, all of which my team beat, 2 of them by 30+... you can't blame me that impressed by any of the 'elite' teams. more likely than not, next year's packers will be this year's saints.

the momentum was ENTIRELY on pittsburgh's side up to that point

i'm glad green bay won, because i hate the steelers, but it seemed pretty obvious the mendenhall fumble saved the day
