No doubt, though I miiiight be seeing her and Jerry Douglas (among others) at the Birchmere for the Mike Auldridge tribute show. Birchmere doesn't have them on the bill, but the local bluegrass station in DC (WAMU) is citing them as being there. Its a Tuesday night, but for them + the others that are supposed to be there for a local legend--might make the trek.

*edit* now they are...daaaaang.

Oh and this...FINALLY.

We have a little bit of recording planned and are finishing up our preparations for the official reissue of our long 'out of print' live album from 2000, ALABAMA ASS WHUPPIN'. Recorded in various Georgia clubs during the Pizza Deliverance Tour of 1999, it is probably the most punkrock thing we ever did and I've really enjoyed hearing again for the first time in way over a decade. We have restored the original 1/2" analogue mixes of the album and will be having it remastered with some nice new art work. Details and dates forthcoming.

Apparently, its coming sooner as opposed to later.

Just read the review for Boduf Songs - Burnt Up On Re-Entry and it intrigued the hell out of me. Scoured for a d/l and turned up nothing. If anyone comes across a link, please post.

I've heard three albums released in 2013 so far. One is great (Daniel Romano), one is good (Free Energy), and one is sub-meh (Jim James).

This was the intro to DBT for me, and I still have the copy I bought over a decade ago. I still miss those and the Isbell days. Counter-weights to each other.

album anticipation:

concert anticipation:

while i agree with Flying Rabbit that a basketball arena is not the ideal place to see sigur rós, the visuals they are working up for this tour + new "aggressive" songs more than make up for it for me.

Two records I'm really enjoying so far.

Banque Allemande - Willst du Chinese sein musst du die ekligen Sachen essen
Sweet Talk - Pickup Lines

Also Townes Van Zandt - Sunshine Boy: Unheard Studio Sessions & Demos 1971-1972 out on Omnivore.

Rick Redbeard - No Selfish Heart

It's ok, I guess. I keep wishing they were Phantom Band demos.

Pretty sure Radcliffe wouldn't/doesn't like Iceage. A little surprised he likes Foxygen. I'll bet that doesn't last.

To be perfectly honest, I'm a little disappointed in You're Nothing on first listen. Maybe I just had my expectations up a little too high based on how much I liked their last album and all the hype for this one. We'll see, though. Hopefully it grows on me.
