I think you can reference all you want as long as you do so with a certain sensitivity. And if your audience takes offense, take your lumps and move on. I have no problem saying it in proper context and necessity. Otherwise it needs to go the way of "dungarees".

It falls under one of life's simple rules that more people should probably pay attention to.

But that also means that anyone else has the right to react and judge you on your words.

Before the year was out, I was still kind of peeved about the whole thing, so I would more shoot back at him, when he'd say 'nigga', with a tart 'nigress'.
