I prefer Sapphire, but either way you pour it, it sure is a great summer drink.

If you've never had a mojito, it's another fantastic summer drink.

Here's a recipe.

Mojito
3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda

In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lemon juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint, and serve.

Seriously, have one of these on a hot day and let me know what you think.

I'm 3 steps ahead of ya' Phil---this is my wife's favorite cocktail, and you're right, they are great on a hot day. It's tough to find a really good mojito at a bar though---too much work for a busy bartender to make a good one at most bars. I've found that if you really want a good one, you have to make it yourself.

And about the gin---have you tried Tanqueray 10 (not just Tanqueray)? I've compared the Sapphire and T10, and find the latter to be so much better.

I just had the 10 last wednesday, and it's really good. Much better than the normal tang. I'll have to A/B them, I've just been a Sapphire guy for so long...

As far as the mojitos, it's bad when you start growing mint for that express purpose.
