Zack and Miri Make a Porno - Fun. Pretty decent. Seth Rogen's pretty cute it in, it's endearing.

Inception - Really liked it. I'm going with Joey on this. I think it's to Nolan's credit. He made a smart movie, but it was still a summer blockbuster and accessible to the masses. Not perfect, but really entertaining with a bit more of an edge than we're used to in big summer movies.

I saw Scott Pilgrim tonight. Pretty much the equivalent of doing coke, playing video games and listening to music for 2 hours, so awesome.

Can't say that I know about the coke part, but I did love the movie, and so did the family.
Kieran Culkin was surprisingly excellent in it, too as Scott's leering, slutty gay roommate (and voice of reason). Probably my favorite character in the movie. Hell I would consider giving him a Supporting Actor nom.

(500) Days of Summer. i liked this more than i thought i would. the main characters were pretty unlikeable and there were no surprises, but i have a serious soft spot for first films by music video directors. i really enjoyed how it was shot. and there were a couple scenes that hit way close to me.

I Am A Fugitive From a Chain Gang. excellent commentary on southern chain gangs. i really enjoyed paul muni's performance here. i don't think many actors from then could have pulled off this role. the balance of constantly looking over his shoulder even while rising in the ranks of society was done very well.

In the last week, have seen Takers, Going the Distance, & Machete. Can only vouch for the last as a worthy viewing. GTD had its moments, particularly the open-door bathroom policy, & Takers put together an intriguing mix of character actors, but neither gelled. Machete, meanwhile, actually had a fairly cohesive story (though the digressions to get Moon-faced Danny Trejo more ass than he's gotten in all prior roles combined were a bit much, even if cowgirl Michelle Rodriguez is something special).

Is Takers worth sneaking into?

Technically, I cannot encourage sneaking into a movie, but since you won't be at the cineplex where I work, go ahead. Seeing the film for free might make it seem a little better (less invested & all).

Saw MacGruber last night. Enjoyed it for what it was worth.

the faux sex scenes were hilarious, a couple of the exchanges with val kilmer brought a few lols, but the rest of that movie was ATROCIOUS

the only recurring gag worth a damn was him carrying around his removable blaupunkt the entire movie

Machete's probably gonna have to wait until next week now.

I watched that documentary Outrage last night. It was decent. Made me feel bad for McGreevy, who seems like a really genuine guy. I never knew there were rumors that Ed Koch was gay.

Gonna finally watch The Friends Of Eddie Coyle today.

Machete is a blast!!! Much better than The Expendables was. Jessica Alba's speech at the end was the only thing about it that I didn't really like. She just couldn't sell "the border crossed us" line.

it was decent for the nudity, excessive blood and badassery

but its not a movie you should think too much about, just watch the eye candy of which there is plenty of

Well yeah, I couldn't really say I know but it's what I'd imagine it to be like. Definitely buying this on DVD when it comes out.

Even better than the first, so I'm expecting really great things from no. 3. If you haven't queued these I highly recommend them. Plus, right now they are streaming on the 'Flix.
