I think To the 5 Boroughs was the last one they put out except for that instrumental album. And I actually really liked that one. IT had a great minimal old-school vibe musically that I thought was pretty great.

Yeah, I gotta say, not bad at all.

I always liked Beastie Boys OK but was never a huge fan. So my perspective may be off, but I like this as well as about anything of theirs. And really, the guys are just good, creative rappers who don't generally fall into cliche and have always had great interplay between them. Quality stuff. And the track with Santigold is pretty cool.

Nothing will ever top the combo of Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head for me and while I'll acknowledge a LOT of that has to do with time and place and age and all that, I don't think anything they have done or will do will ever approach Paul's Boutique creatively. It sits in that category of albums like Blonde On Blonde or Sticky Fingers where I can't even imagine people sitting around shitting out that much creative material day after after day and making it work as an album.

MIRACLE FORTRESS "WAS I THE WAVE?"

Been waiting on this one for a bit, and it pays off. Recommended to anyone feeling for a little wavy, ambient, wispy electronic pop, and the sound of Montreal in June. That's doing it injustice actually... RIYL: Caribou a bit, and a more languid Owen Pallett.

The main reason why I wanna check that out is to see if all the hype he's spouting is true. Bastard was okay, but if Yonkers is an indication of the rest of the album it's gonna be really good.
