I won't say you guys produced a first half of fear. You just didn't build a big enough lead and LSU's been there done that (though not quite this inept an offensive showing for a half). Second half was what I "half" expected the game to be. Too bad he supposedly hit that synth, because I believe the Honey Badger deserves a trip to NY and a shot at that trophy.

My opinion is that OK St. deserves their shot in the NCG. Alabama had theirs already, at home. OK St. lambasted OU. They've done all that they can do. I'm afraid it's not enough, though. So, here's one final FUCK SABAN!

Chris Petersen isn't on a pedestal so much as he knows only to fly to a certain height. (Same as Mark Few at Gonzaga, in basketball.) He has done as much at Boise as Richt has done at Georgia, Leach at Texas Tech & presumptively WSU (& wouldn't a Boise-Wash State rivalry be great to stoke?), & Rich Rod at WVU but not Michigan, without even half the aggravation. He's also done more than Jeff Tedford, Rick Neuheisel (Colorado, Washington, UCLA -- & the next job will be..?), Dave Wannstedt, &, yes, Bobby Petrino -- all celebrated coaches in major conferences. So, what's not to like?

He's never won the SEC (twice) and plays in a zero pressure environment. So no, he hasn't done what Mark Richt has done.

He beat Richt head-to-head and won 2 BCS games....same as Richt.

But he hasn't won the SEC because he doesn't coach in that conference. Will always be tough to do if you don't coach in the conference.

I would love to see him in a BCS conference to "find out" if he's as good as the eye-test seems to indicate. Yes, UCLA offered him 4 million, 3 million for assistants, a house in Bel Air, and Scarlett Johansson as the Arnold-Memorial au pair and he turned it down. Maybe UNC will bring him closer to your beloved SEC.

'Bama should be in the championship, but it would be a much, much less interesting game than either an Ok State game or that other rematch with Oregon (which I still think is the most exciting team in America, if not the best....).

i wouldn't say zero pressure- he's built the pressure up to the point that if he loses once, his season is over- it's BCS or nothing. Clearly SEC schools can't say the same, as we're about to see with this LSU-Bama clusterfuck.

Bingo.

Did we learn nothing from Nebraska in 2001, & Oklahoma in 2005?

Right, but when he loses that game, the Bronco faithful aren't calling for his job. That's the difference in pressure.

He'd do better in the Pac 12. The ACC stinks on ice.

And I'm not one of those people who "roots for the SEC". I hate most of those schools and the people who root for them.

Also, I think Oklahoma St. should play LSU in the MNC game.

Look at all these whiny fucks crying about the SEC. It's not in dispute that the SEC is the best conference in football.

My soul still hurts after the end of the Big Ten title game - and I didn't even watch it because I was at shows last night.

Dammit.

Still, the Dantonio Era has brought us one conference title (shared) and come *this close* to a second outright title. I'll take it. After the travishamockery of the John L. Smith years, we're in a good place.

I'd be hesitant to hire a former Boise State coach to head up an also ran AQ/BCS conference team. Dan Hawkins and Dirk Koetter didn't do crap when they were hired by second and third tier teams on a similar level as UCLA. I think Petersen would do well if he landed a job on par with Urban Meyer or Brady Hoke after their stints with Mid-Majors, but I wouldn't leave Boise for a job like Texas A&M, Kansas, Ole Miss or UCLA.

PEOPLE voting in poll at espn.com overwhelmingly want to see LSU vs. OK St.

The only mood I am capable of currently is coming to grips with a massive hangover.

Good LORD man.

Looks like a rematch of the '09 Capital One Bowl, this time in the Outback Bowl.

Gar, Bloor, Derris, it'll be a damn pleasure...

Sparty put up a hell of fight...it very easily could have been UW in that game.

Virginia Tech making the Sugar Bowl might be one of the biggest WTF moments of bowl selection shows in recent memory. I'm not sure who the ACC bribed to get two teams into the BCS Bowl this year, but the Big 12 needs to find out and double that amount for next year.
I really would have enjoyed seeing RGIII or Kellen Moore face off against Denard Robinson in New Orleans. I know the Hokies travel well, but they got annihilated twice by the only meaningful team they played all year.
I still think they need to make a rule that a team that fails to win their conference cannot play in the BCS title game, if they aren't going to go the playoff route.

UW can get some, too. I believe we ganked y'all in the 2000 GARtback Bowl.

That's right - Purdue was 2000 I think.

I guess Georgia will have to wait a few years to get revenge for that 1969 Sun Bowl game, but it will be nice to play Spurrier and the Gamecocks again.
