I love Mexicali, but into a 3 minute Dark Star? Must have needed to go backstage and smoke some DMT?

This has to be one of the longer ones in the Project.

Hot version of Ramble on Rose here, as well. I am enjoying the fuck outta today's set, even if they did start out a bit sluggish!

Yeah the beginning is REAL sluggish, so much so that i had to divert away to other music for a while but I'm back now and looking forward to the rest.

I'm 10 min into it right now. Only 30 more to go.

Also, we have 19 more Picks. I start again on Monday.

Finishing up #34 at long last:

Eyes->S&D was excellent. Some really subtly nice jamming in Eyes.
It is a Must to Have Been the Roses.
Estimated #1 sounds pristine. Some weird harpsichord synth sounds a la Mountains of the Moon that I've never heard in there before, getting more electric sounding. One of the best versions I've heard.
Really weird Around and Around.
Same sounds as Estimated in Lazy Lightning/Supplication, and I really like.

If I had realized this yesterday (when the show we listened to was really good) it wouldnt be a big deal, but today's show was both annoying and tedious to me so I have an overwhelming feeling of dread.

Totally with you on Prophet and the final two songs. Loved 'em.

This was bound to happen sooner or later. Fatigue was inevitable. 18 to go. I'm picking a 60s set for Monday as a pick me up.

I thought today's set was exemplary of the early 70s Dead, and pretty hot.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty decent myself, early post-Pigpen tunes which for me has been a bit abrupt in terms of transition at times considering the short time period. Good stuff.

I think I may have been in a surly mood today but I also think we've heard some better shows from this same era.

Because I can't help myself, I queued up this Winterland complete set that Jason upped, this morning. Dern, they sound FUCKED UP - like some serious Persian was smoked in the lead up to first notes. Gives the set a lazy groove, that is for sure. good for a cold saturday morning

If this entire project has taught me one thing: Dark Star, Space, Drums, even CC Rider are better than Tennessee Jed, which truly might be the worst song ever played.

And most bizarre for myself is that I've come to appreciate the formerly loathed Dancing in the Street. But it's got to be a funked out disco version of it.

Good points made by both of you. To them I would add the notion that songs like China Cat Sunflower and I Know You Rider should be severed from one another eternally. And dark horses like Loser and Black Throated Wind consistently outdo the classics. Everyone always loves a ballad like Bird Song.

Also this is much more fun at home on a rainy Saturday with j's, caffeine, food, nothing to do, infinite sports on mute. I'm saving a volume for every weekend, and canceling my life until Xmas.

The memory problems and confusion is becoming burdensome.

Don't be so suburban, maaaaan. Like, this is a free flowing jam, so like, if Charger Charlie steps on your solo, just find an neeew grrroooooove, maaaan,

And, light your candle.
