Count me among those who just can't get past the vocals. I enjoy some of the music, but the vocals are even more grating than Arcade Fire.

Cemeterypolka and I watched their video tonight (don't know what song it was for, whatever the single is) and we could not stop laughing over the vocals. The vocals are even more loud and pronounced when watching it through a TV and they are SO AWFUL that it's simply hilarious to listen to. You can't make out a single word the guy says.

Cex or Clap Your Hands Say Yeah? Both were OnDemand, under Havoc in the music section obviously. I love my music OnDemand.

Haha, very true. I'm not the biggest fan of SFA's new album (from the one time I've listened to it), but compared to Bloc Party and CYHSY it's like the second coming of Christ.

it's pretty funny how you're doing anything to revive this thread and your distaste for CYHSY.

why don't you go buy your girlfriend an iPod and kindly fuck off from this board.

i like how, according to you, spoon is "(THE most generic indie rock band in a generation FULL of bland, generic indie rock)", yet you can't even bother to come up with original jokes.

Is this a joke? No, really. I want to know. You can't possibly be that dumb.

And where does Spoon come into this equation?

I'm not going to get an ipod but thanks for trying. I don't expect an ipod, I don't ask for expensive gifts. He buys me dinner, he buys me movie tickets, he does nice shit for me besides that as well. I'm grateful for that.. I don't really ask for much else, or atleast I don't think I do.

I mean, I really wouldn't mind an ipod, but i'm pretty sure that when I really want one I can buy it myself. I'm pretty independent that way.
:D

I've had this album for a couple of weeks now and I'm really digging it. At first the vocals were a little harsh on my ears but they've grown on me. Musically, this album is very catchy.

As for the vocals, I don't think it's so much that they're bad but just produced too loud or something. I'm sure technically speaking the vocals would not be considered "good" but I don't think they're any harder to listen to than Dylan and I'm a huge Dylan fan.
