I started posting occasionally on CMJ three years ago; I think I'm responsible for recruiting bitterbuffalo to the board (sorry about that), and along with the two of us, typeslowly and mayhole (who don't post much/at all), we constitute the Utah contingency for the board. We hang out, see shows from time to time.

I travel a fair amount for my job, so I've met 10 or 15 other obnertricians in the past few years---pretty friendly group, overall.

I'll challenge you for that title, Max. If only because of my strategic, geographical location.

Obners met: How about zero. Is zero good for you?

But seriously, I'd like to meet *some* of y'all.

Didn't know anyone before...I don't even recall how I got started on the CMJ board in the first place. Probably by Googling for music oriented boards.

There's a headstone epitaph.

Have never met anyone from the board in person. But that's okay, cause I'm just a Darrin Frew gimmick anyway. Don't actually exist.

I'll be having a party at my house again - the 2nd annual Obnish All-Skate - and I've already invited dorkestreprince of . . . to play a solo set, if he's able. Any other Obnish that want to play a live set - or DJ - would be invited. We had random british label reps last time. If GAR names it, I will brew it - a lot of it.

I like Pale Ale the best..followed by a good, flavorful (not watery, Bud style) American Lager.

I love Stout, I love Pilseners and I love Hefe...But I DRINK IT ALL

Oh god. The only reason I'd be in the D-TX during the X-mas break is to visit my way fundamentalist Christian fam-fam . . . if we go and get me completely GAR and I might get some familial excommunication going on.

I also knew no one before CMJ but since then I've met:
KPH
Shmoo
Velouria
Altruism
Bluestar
DSBruce
Newt
Joey Crack
Cotton
FT
Haq
Katie
OPA
Lemur

I think that's it...

I joined CMJ I don't remember how. Didn't post that frequently. Came here and still don't post that frequently. Though I do read a lot of threads... Never met anyone either.

If I start a hefty, high gravity IPA right after Thanksgiving it should be ready by the All-skate. Do you promise not to break my house if it ends up being 8-9-10%?

Loogs won't break shit Chuck, but he will drink your beer really fast and not throw away the bottles, instead preferring to make a fine castle.

Oh, but that could just be remedied by feeding him from a keg, right?

I knew no one going in and my meet list is short:
Aural Fixation
Chuck D

But I'm shooting for being a permanent Austin resident by the time SXSW rolls around, so all youz bastages need to come south, add to my Obners-met list and help me get run out of town in prompt fashion.

He doesn't post, but I see him online now and then. Says he's just become too busy with work and family to post much anymore.

Only other one is Dorkestra/epa/PrinceofDarkness. swiateck is due, though. Colins, in fact, rule.

Knew before posting in late '01 / early '02: not a soul
Recruited: mypoorfriendme (college boyzzzz)
Have met: Ampersand, PopTodd, kitt, fastnbulbous, mojo, neuroboy, xix/mrs. neuro, princess katie, HaqDiesel, Charli, Spade Kitty, cybin, Cotton, Lemur, OPA!, SpontaneousPoet, tthorn, dz (Lemur's bandmate), shmoo, altruism, KonstantinL, Aural Fixation, epa, robotboy, Josh B, tom, nico, elephantstone, discostu, Joey Crack, jagged... to be continued

I'm sure I've forgotten somebody, so apologies in advance. I'm also pretty sure I set the record for everyone outside Chicago sans work travel.

I knew no one coming in sept. 2001...

First two I met were Aaron and Jen, they came to see me play, which was very nice. Then I ended up rooming with aaron. Then Katie stole aaron away from me, but he and I are both straight so it never would have worked out anyways. Um, i've met aaron's brother andy, derek and josh from riviera, ryan from the pilots and I drink together on occasion, I'm in Graham's band on Matt's label (graham posted for like maybe 10 posts), Let's see... Trevor, Bob, both Colins, Tania, Velouria, Monty, Mike (Dreaded Marco), Mike (AFreshstartforme), Spence, Stacey, Chris (opa), Discostu, Dave (Shoegaze), Todd, Tim, Kevin, Eric, Matt (lemur), MFKC, Stone. I've missed Chase (college chase, not joey crack) twice on his visits to Chicago. I've been stood up by people I've guest listed at shows... fickerson, e-stone, a couple of other colorado obnish... for shame.

So not counting graham, I'm at 30. I may have missed someone. So yeah, if you're in town and you need a couch, a ride from the airport, etc... don't count on me, cause I'm an unreliable musician.
