Hmm, usually faculty gigs don't work like that. To get promoted, my whole department has to vote on me. What are the odds they would approve of the shenanigans? It's not going to be the sort of party where I can bonk even a simple majority of them.

Many of them brought their adorable children. And it was out in the burbs, so everyone had to drive. Hence, getting drunk at home alone after the party. They should have these things at my place.

Peter Hook is doing a dj set four blocks from my work in January. So work not a total loss on the access-to-fun front.

I'm actually including the DC area into my travel plans next year. One of my best friends just had twins -- it's been awhile since we've seen each other and am overdue. Once I make plans, I'll definitely let ya know. I've never hung out in Baltimore before.
