I locked in the $20ish all you can eat rate a month at blockbuster a couple of years ago with 2 out at a time... late fees were kicking my ass before then tho. Tuesdays I go in and get the latest releases.

But I do understand how if you live in a serious urban area how netflix would be amazing for you.

I think its just the opposite. If you live in a rural area, Netflix is the thing to do, because most rentals places don't backlog indie/foreign/docs/etc. I used to do the Hollywood video thing, which was cool, but then I just got sick of driving to the store, or returning them. Now, I watch the netflix movies, and drop them in the mailbox at work. With emusic, its one of the best things about the internet.

Not sure I'm following you... What do you define as rural? The business plan of netflix is to appeal to those who find it easier to order than visit the store. Honestly bub, Netflix is about getting product out, and if you live in a city where it's a pain in the ass to either get to, or drive within.. netflix is for you. I'm fairly certain that any small population around 5K has a video store at this point, coast to coast.

No doubt that a smaller pop has many different vid stores, but my point is that a rural area doesn't have as many selections. Netflix boasts pretty much every dvd in print, so if you live in a small town where your options are "Failure To Launch" or "Glory Road" Netflix is a great alternative to see harder to find films, or lower rent run dvds.

Jane, you ignorant slut...

If you live in a city with such a huge population that it's a pain to drive to the video store, then Netflix is for you.

By your argument, I guess Netflix thought about the rental rate if you live on the plains of Wyoming which is damn convienent for those folks and a godsend when it comes to entertainment, but Netflix wasn't about Wyoming, it was about NY and Chicago and other places it can serve a significant population. It's a brilliant business model. Like delivery pizza.

feel better? Once again, a self-centered idiot with no fucking clue how the world works. Congrats!

I've had Netflix for almost a year, but I just recently put my account on hold. I got overloaded on DVDs for my birthday, and $17 bucks a month isn't worth it right now.
