some REAL shit is going on at one of my other boards, involving people cheating other people out of $100k.

It mostly involves the poker site I play at and a huge cheating scandal that was uncovered.

Prediction: Someone at that poker site is going to own Spade Kitty Records soon.

Spade got offered $100k to sleep with a wealthy older gentleman for a night.

clarification: at the other board i post on a guy was doing some research/survey thing about insulting someone by putting a crappy band bumper sticker on the car. i thought it was a interesting topic and we needed a bigger pool to cull results from so i posted the topic on this board. then at the other board i posted a link to the bumper sticker thread and said "hey check out these responses". ...which, by the way, was interesting because on the Pop Punk Board reponses were in the vein of Pennywise and Leftover Crack, and over here it was more like Creed and so forth. eh, anyway, christian from the pop punk board took it upon himself to visit, register, and post. not to say i don't welcome him to obner, but i didn't specifically send him an invitaiton.

which bring me to a certian point. should i/we keep obner a secret? the only people i know that know about obner are obernites and my wife...is that weird? or is it simply the case of being a very tiny blip on a world-wide radar? we've never casted a net for new posters (as far as i know) but if we did, we'd get 10 jerks and 20 street teamers to every one cool dude....

also, there is no dirt on me. i'm clean as an andrew bird whistle.

I was picturing you and Christian kicking back with beers at the local Commie rally. I'm kinda let down.

I think advertising ourselves does bring in douchebags, and the steady but slow trickle of goodness we've gotten is maybe as much as we can expect?

I can think of 2 or 3 people I know who like music enough to post here, but would who absolutely not fit in otherwise.

One of the good things about this board is that no one fits in here. Except for maybe the general ridicule of commercial pop-punk, there's not a heck of a lot of herd-brain here, regardless of our end of year music polls.

We're all vastly different and are only pretending to not be. If we got to chatting up things we like that we DON'T raise on this board on a regular basis, I bet it'd result in all manner of fun time scornful chortling.

I've been trying to work in at least one NS joke a day. Bravo sir.

Yeah - very good one... I thought that post was factually accurate until, oh say, 75% into it...

As for myself, I'm busy moving, being broke, and waiting for my Spank Rock's yoyoyoyoyoyo to come out, which has made me a bit crankier... but having a more flippant tongue has led to me posting more 'round here, and I finally got the new Destroyer disc yesterday, so I should be in a better mood soon...

That is, as long as I don't think of my currently-non-internet having homestead..

Even though I got one of the lower scores in the "splates rates you" thread , I generally find most folks here to be cordial. That's rare for a message board, where the temptation to be an asshole is often hard to resist even for those who would not do it in person.

Either that or I am reading the wrong threads.
