hi, my name is e-stone and i'll be complaining for my co-worker/buddy tim. found out this morning that tim got hit by a car while riding his bike home last night. stupid fucker made a quick right without a signal right in front of tim as he was cruising at about 20 MPH. tim t-bones the car and flies over the hood. luckily tim is ok today. hanging at home with lots of bruises and scrapes, but nothing major.

did the driver stop?

yeah. this was right in the middle of rush hour traffic, so about 10-15 other people stopped too. driver was cited with wreckless driving.

this has happened to my husband many times. Most times he's able to brake to avoid hitting the car; one time he did not, and a truck trailer clipped him, the driver looked at him in his side view mirror and kept going.

When I buy something, the charge is immediate. It posts to my bank account within 24 hours.

So, why is it that when I return something, it takes fucking FOREVER to get my credit?? I returned a faulty triathlon suit two weeks ago. They received it, per UPS, on Friday, June 28. Where's my fucking credit? I can't say to them, "hey, give me a suit and I'll pay you in two weeks." Jerks.

you need to followup on this with them. i had to return some software last year and they credited me within a week of my second email. it just took a little extra nudge.

I emailed the girl who told me to return the suit and she didn't respond. Today, I called and left a message. I'm going to email and call again this afternoon.

I want to complain about people who go to the ticket kiosk at bus stations and clearly have no idea WHERE they are going or WHEN they are going, while people who do, me for instance, patiently wait while our bus is just about to leave.

What you want to do is decide where you are going and when, BEFORE you get in the queue, holding everyone else up.

Pricks.

Heh heh. This thread really had staying power. Heh.

Nothing to complain about today except that I could probably use around $3, 000 for music gear purchases and repairs.

If you had bumped this thread last Friday it would have looked much like my original post: broke, pms, over-air conditioned, insurrance problems, invaded by "inlaw-ish" people, no sleep, etc...

agreed. one of the only positives about my commute that's doubled in time (20 to 40 minutes) since changing jobs in june is that i don't need to bother with the people at the ticket counter since i can now just add money to my transit card via a machine. although, the machines at the stop near work are always broken.

I want to complain about 1 thing: ROOMMATES.

-the one time i decide i'm going to be good and try to sleep early due to 9:30am meetings every monday... i toss and turn for 2 1/2 hours because of loudass roommates and their friends. i first yelled "CAN YOU PLEASE KEEP IT DOWN" while their friends were talking loudly since i can hear everything in my room then an hour later... i hear a bunch of people stomping around and walking in my house at 1:30am and completely flipped out on everyone. i'm so not nice when i don't get enough sleep.

-also i have serious fleabites from a stupid cat that's not mine and i don't like cats at all. so now, the cat is outside but i specifically asked if we can get rid of the cat entirely since i'm allergic. and they don't listen.

tonight, time to have a little chat with everyone.

motherfuckers. :wavefinger:

I've got one: people glaring at us in a friggin' pizza joint because we have our very happy baby with us, who is making very happy baby noises. This isn't some upscale pizza "dining experience" - it was Streets Of New York - and our little Amanda was having fun, making little squeals of delight like happy babies do. Two sets of people glared at us like we'd committed some awful sin - one couple in their late 40s/early 50s who seemed to be trying to have a romantic evening over pizza and soda and another older woman eating by herself and doing crossword puzzles. It wasn't even that much commotion - just random outbursts of "happy noise," not screaming and crying. However, I feel better knowing that these people's hearts are rotting inside, growing fungus where their compassion used to be.

i'm annoyed with this company i ordered a dj mixer from in may. they said it was out of stock and would probably be in within a month. so after a month and a week, i e-mailed them to find out when it would be available and their reply was "numark never tells us anything worthwhile"

so as you can see, they're quite professional. i e-mailed them again today to find out if i was EVER going to receive it and they e-mailed me back "ships today!"

of course they don't have a phone number, like any normal business would.

great thing is that they're in burlington VT so i can just drive up there and wreak holy hell on their office.

well, my life has gone to shit all of a sudden.

- we have been planning to leave for north carolina this weekend to stay on the beach for a week with my family. i can't say enough how important this trip was for me - we have been going there since i was a baby; it's my favorite place in the entire world. it's what has gotten me through a really shitty summer, and day after day of putting up with my miserable job. my boyfriend delayed starting his new job for a month so he could go (and he is seriously broke), and now we're not going. and we're not going because...

- my grandma has lung cancer, and it has gotten really bad in the last week. we have no idea when she's going to go, but we do know it will be soon, and it's basically impossible for me to grasp this concept.

- and my birthday is tomorrow, and this all just fucking sucks.

i'm sorry to hear about this ficky. I had a uncannily similar week last week, and it really tore me up. I'm sorry to hear about your vacation, but at least you'll have time to be supportive of your grandma.

The saga with neighbors puppy continues (some may have heard about this in chat). Neighbors, an elderly woman and her daughter (I’m assuming in her late 20s but is learning disabled), took in a Rottweiler/Chow puppy. The daughter brought the puppy home and he was fat and cute (looked like a little bear). I talked with her about him asked what his name is, etc. (his name is “Fluffy” by the way…this isn’t a long-hair mix…I don’t think she really gave the name a thought). Ok, not giving your dog’s name a thought should be a sign that they don’t really see this dog as part of their family.

After the puppy became too big for their one-story, shot-gun bungalow house, they started chaining him outside under a tree in the very back of the yard (so far away from the house, there is no way that he’d ever be a “guard dog”). The puppy was outside without shelter and he kept knocking his water bucket over. I started going over filling up the water bucket (which I had to wash because it was filthy and muddy) and told them they had to provide some kind of shelter for this poor dog and that he really needs attention because he is going to grow up fast and be a very big dog. So, about a week later they get a dog house (a used one that is so terrible that the dog doesn’t go inside of it). The only good thing about the dog house is that the water bucket is situated against and doesn’t knock over and he isn’t left for hours in the hot summer without water (at least he is in a very shady part of the yard). He has, of course, run a path back and forth as far as his tether will allow him.

I started buying him chew bones and toys because he was always sat out there with no toys and no company. I also periodically go over and try and calm him down and pet him but since he has little-to-no human contact and he jumps around like crazy. So today, I went home at lunch and got out of my car and not seeing that he was loose was knocked down. He had broken his chain and was galloping around my yard. He’s probably a good 90 lbs. which, combined with speed, seems like a galloping elephant. So I picked myself off of the ground and tried to get him to calm down (he would not). He jumped up all over me and now my legs are full of scratches, some deep ones too, and now I smell like a wet dog. Ok, so I try and see if I can remedy the chain but could not – it is broke. Neighbors do not answer door. I gave him a bone and left him on their front porch happily chomping away. So, as I leave to go back to work, he decides he is going to chase me and my car down the road and there he was jumping up and down against my car in traffic. So I had to slowly back-up (thankfully the people in the road were not angry but understanding) and coral him back onto his porch.

So I came to work and called Animal Control and explained that I didn’t want bad blood with my neighbor but outlined the entire situation. They said as long as he has a doghouse, a tether 3 x his length, as long as he has water and is fed once a day they can’t do anything about it (oh, and he is supposed to be registered with the county). So, I’m waiting for the Animal Control officer to ring me back and let me know the situation. I’d be surprised if anyone read this far but this is my number one complaint in life – this poor puppy. The fact that they’ve spent no time with him to even train him to sit or relax or anything means that he will be a hard dog to adopt out should they take him away from them. I, unfortunately, cannot keep a dog as I already have 5 rescue animals living in my house and I don’t have the kind of lifestyle to have a dog as part of the family (i.e. I work 6-days a week, travel a bit and am not home quite often and wouldn’t subject a dog to that). Ugh, poor Fluffy.
