I hate hate HATE: "a whole nother," as in "that's a whole nother story." "Nother" is not a word. The correct way to say this is "that's a whole OTHER story."

I worked with a woman who butchered cliches like nobody's business. My favorite was when she would ask if something was "visible to the naked person's eye." She also referred to where she grew up as a "one circus town" and insisted that some people "just can't mustard the punishment."

This doesn't work awfully well in text but I was in a tutorial the other day at Uni and one student consistently said "pat-ronise" when what they meant was "patron-ise".

It was like spotting someone with their fly down. You are embarrassed for them but you can't say anything.
