Be My Baby - The Ronettes

Best. Song. Ever.

I'll toss in Smokey Robinson's "Tears of a Clown", Ben E. King's "Stand By Me", Bobby Vee's "Take Good Care of My Baby", Chuck Berry's "Oh! Carol" and about ten thousand other songs made before 1970.

Shit, what about "Please Mr. Postman"?

I am a bigger fan of "Second That Emotion" (Temptations?) "Same Old Song" and Sam and Dave's "(Hold On) I'm Comin)

How about a little Everly Brothers in this piece?

Yeah, I'm gonna throw on 'Heat Wave' too. I love Martha and the Vandellas.

Dude, "Second That Emotion" is amazing; I gotta say though that I'm a little burned out on "(Hold On) I'm Comin'"

The Everly's are absolutely perfect, so perfect in fact that I can't even comprehend them walking into a studio and cutting something like "Cathy's Clown" Does. Not Compute.

I'd also like to add Roy Orbison's "Only The Lonely", "Cryin" and especially "In Dreams" to the debate.

I don't think I've seen any Marvin Gaye in here, so 'Let's Get it On'.

lots of my favs are already listed.

howzabout

beach boys - in my room
minders - hooray for tuesday
ricky nelson - poor little fool
kleenex girl wonder - anne marie
cardigans - rise and shine

and i guess they are radio fluff but eric carmen's "make me lose control" and billy joel's "for the longest time" are excellent pop songwritings.

And, Bloor comes in and ruins the whole thing. Thanks, now I will stay up all night, hugging my knees and drooling.
